Strangest thing it was by a 30-something noob man child(said he only had the game for a couple weeks), and another man-child with a speech impediment. It shook me up a little, all the verbal and mental assaults brought my game down. I'm usually a nice a guy on-line so when someone is being rude to me I usually just laugh and say haha yea that's funny. It's ironic though in real life and face to face no way in hell would these guy behave the way they did to me. Towards the end I finally had a breaking point and spoke my mind, the guy who had the game for a couple weeks apologized and ceased. However the speech impediment, "5-year old" continued to be immature. The group disbanded I was able to find another group and easily beat Oryx, big difference in the successful group, people were actually being helpful, no one was new to beating Oryx. Overall a better friendlier atmosphere, devoid of narcissists and assholes. Also I'm no push over either I've completed the raid on all 3 characters since launch of hard mode, and have always been respected and courteous.
So, I guess my biggest lesson I've learned from playing with people, is that shit talking, getting angry, or any form of toxicity is very harmful to the success and morale for a team. Elitism and Narcissism is the biggest indicator and danger sign to look out for in a player when recruiting a fire team. When it's just one or two people messing up they can learn by taking a break and communicating. However with narcissistic asshole its like talking to a brick wall with a bad attitude bring everyone down. Sorry for the rant but this has been lingering in my mind.
*This post was inspired by a powerful episode of The Walking Dead recent episode involving Peace and Aikido.
*For those "tough guys" My main point here is this has been a learning growing experience for me to be more helpful player as opposed to putting people down without contributing to the success of a team.
*Another thing to take from this post is that, when someone dies in a Raid it may not be their fault that they're dying. There is a million reason that could trigger this such someone tethering the shade at the wrong time next person that gets put in will be slammed. Ogres aren't being aggro 'd efficiently thus are loose cannons killing people on platforms, or the relic runner being targeted. Lack of communication where as someone the last to meet up somewhere. All these little things can be addressed and fixed instead of rage blaming and being rude.

Poor little snowflake got his sensitive feelings hurt over a video game that has a mute option. Does noone have any balls anymore?
-
At that point, even if they're part of my raid team I just mute

Wow a post that wasn't 100% negative! I actually enjoyed reading this! Thanks for sharing! It's sad because you might think I'm being sarcastic but I promise I'm not!

What I do is if we start a raid and if I feel like these guys I'm playing with are not nice or cool then I leave and find a new group, there are tons of groups doing the raid all the time so if someone isn't treating you how you like to be treated peace out and leave them for a different group!
-
What did they do to bully you? I came here looking for a good story and am thoroughly disappointed.
-
Someone needs some french cries.....oooooh snap.... but seriously delete this sensitive ass shit.

not sure what to say here. i see this post as a pointless waste of time, and gives me a bad impression of you. first off.. noone should be harassed in an online video game. you have way too many options to end it, and if you stay and take the abuse.. it kinda is on you. think about it. 1. you can leave the group any time 2. you can mute people (kinda makes raiding hard.. but it is an option 3. you can report players to both, Bungie and to PSN. 4. you can simply ignore it if throughout the harassment, the group was solid an dknew what they were doing and pretty much assured 100% raid completion.. i could understand sticking it out. but if the group was so so, and just short of a bag os shit... there was no reason to stay. it is so easy to find a raid group. so with that, i dont have any sympathy for you.. and honestly i think alot less of you because of it.

1 ReplyHis speech impediment has nothing to do with it. You having to state that is probably why you get bullied. Grow up.
-
If there is an obnoxious person in a group I joined I just leave. If its my party I boot em prob solved. Life is full of assholes. Best thing to do is ignore them get thick skin or dont play with random people. Too bad bungie doesn't have asshole nerf setup yet.

6 RepliesWinning an argument or debate on these forums is like winning the special olympics. Even if ya win you're still retarded

2 RepliesUnfortunately, these forums are full of the exact type of people you're talking about. Throwing insults while hidden behind their keyboards, they're basically immune to anything you say. They're going to throw shade at you, belittle you, and try their hardest to rip you to shreds for not being a "big beefy man and dealing with it", even though they're probably quite sensitive themselves. I kick all elitists from my fireteams. I warn anyone entering my teams that if they don't have patience they should leave immediately. If you don't have patience and respect for your fellow gamers, you don't belong in my fireteam. Good luck out there. I see a "bump if OP is a little bitch" comment is gaining tread. We pretty much expect those posts, and you can expect it to get many, many signatures, even though not a single one of them would actually say it to your face.

4 RepliesWouldn't say that face to face in real life to you? I would, if you can't handle that online what would you do in real life?
fetal position

also no one cares, just leave the fireteam
Just don't put up with this shit. Leave the party and look for a new one when this happens.

20 RepliesLol there is no such thing as cyber bullying. Grow the -blam!- up and walk away if there's a problem.

Lesson 1 Don't put up with shit. Lesson 2 They need you more than you need them lesson 3 The best option is just to leave, but not before reporting the guy for unfreindly, unhelpful behaviour.

3 RepliesI got run over by the tomb ship while trying to jump into the bubble in Oryx Hard. My team laughed until they killed Oryx
