After almost two months of the Taken King dlc being released, do you think it's really worth $40? State your reasons below!
At first, I thought it was but now I'm starting to think otherwise. I honestly think it's worth $30 max.

9 RepliesEdited by Jimbo_024: 11/5/2015 9:58:17 AMGetting real tired of seeing the analogy $ versus hours spent "entertained." I can buy a used $2 DVD and watch it a thousand times over, and can say that used DVDs are the better value. "Well what's the fun in that?" Well what's the fun in doing about fifteen story missions, and then relentlessly grinding. I knocked out the story missions in a day. Strikes and everything else not grinding, was done in less than a week. Are we really going to say a video game is worth $40 a week? We were lied to again, Taken King WAS NOT as big as vanilla destiny, it added basically nothing to the story, and it in a lot of people's minds created even more artificial playing time then the original. Yes I play this game, because I don't mind wasting my time, I have that luxury. Is it a good deal? No way. Edit: if they could actually balance crucible, it would all be redeemed. But they won't. I seriously think activision DOES NOT want destiny to be balanced. It would cut into Call of Duty play time. I truly believe this.

The 40 dollar TTK expansion has more content that some 60 dollar titles I've played. So yes it's well worth the money.
-
Naw retextured armor and weapons Boring missions and raid Should've just came with the season pass.
-
3 RepliesNot even worth $20 for the amount of content it renders useless. You couldn't pay me to play this game again.
-
$40 yes. £40 no.
-
5 RepliesIf you look at it in the actual amount of content we got was it worth it of course not but is it ever really worth it is any games content actually really worth the money .... no not really If you look at it in how I actually used and played through the game, I have spent two months on it and have only just finished all its hardest challenges jusy beat oryx this week got my last exotic last week and i still have things to level up and collect then yes Damn right it's worth the money had loads of completely new games that I got less out of than this. Fact is almost ever game isn't worth the money but that doesn't stop anyone buying it does it

1 ReplyWorth twice that i would have paid 200$
-
Not worth it. Simply because new weaponry and armory is not worth that much. The raid seems alright fun, but again it is all within the same as previously..
-
4 RepliesIntroduced swords and hammers. That's worth $40 alone! Lol.
-
1 ReplyI paid about $70 being from the uk and I think it's worth it
-
Yeah I think $40 was a reasonable price.
-
1 ReplyIt was worth $40 but the patches after it released took the fun out of it.
-
I might not have gotten as much time out of it as the base game. But I got what I paid for.
-
Recycled strikes and nightfalls. Make 300? Game content that progresses drops to an uneventful nightfall and 2 raids a character. No. Not worth it. And when you retort "oh you're still playing". No. I'm not. Then you retort "then why are you still posting here?" When you pay my internet bill you can tell me where I can and can't post.

This shit should've been in the season pass but oh well $40 isn't that much considering then destiny ps4 bundle and season pass was a gift anyway

Given I got a good soild month out of it and im only going to get 6 hours out of cod for 80 CHF yeh I think I got a good deal
-
3 RepliesNope, should be free. I still wouldn't waste the download space.😂:)
-
I agree with $30 the way they did ttk is everything is behind time gates just to say it's to keep you busy over time extended story was super short new exotics are not even great but hey the game is great to spend time with friends but even we are finding the Raid boring now
-
I love ttk but the price was a dick move.

Edited by CRYPTICWARNINGS: 11/5/2015 10:10:16 AMI can't think of any game that has new exciting content that lasts a month that doesn't resort to grinding Halo's, cod's Tom clancy's, gears, etc. all last about 2 weeks and it is done unless you play pvp People just spent $60 on halo 5 and BO3, they will be out of content within a week and play pvp or warzone/zombies I'm not counting fallout and games like that which almost equals the grinding aspect of destiny Why does everyone say it isn't worth $40? The taken king lasted just as long if not longer than any almost any new $60 that you buy Yes, year one was rough But they made dlc that almost made up for it I'm excited for these upcoming releases but I know if I play hard, tell be done in a week or two and I'll be playing pvp or the next game How is this any different than every other game we've bought for the past 5+ years I'm not saying you're wrong, this is only opinion and if you do know of any games that give a months worth of content without buying a dlc, please let me know so I can buy them as well

"The taken King" No not at all. I played destiny the day it came out and months until the first dlc. When the doc came out I couldn't be bothered to get the dlc and then the second, destiny slowly gathered dust and sadly I had lost interest as you needed the dlcs for nightfall etc and to keep up your level. When I heard this destiny was releasing all the dlcs for the same price as a normal game I jumped on the opportunity and haven't been off it since. The game is worth it, the dlc alone is not.

3 RepliesEven though it's not as great, awesome and hyped as in the start, two months of entertainment for 40$? Obviously worth it :-)
