How Bungie got their name.

I just recently bought the Legendary edition of Halo 3. After going through all the videos, Jason Jones can't tell how Bungie got their name. Ever since then I have been asking myself, "How did Bungie get their name?" So since Bungie can't tell us why don't we guess? Mine is. Someone was eating a Bun saw a girl named Gie.

 • Oh so dumb
Posted by: PKF_647 (a long time ago) "Seven little dinner rolls all went out for a walk, they came across a bridge and all decided to jump off rather than being eaten at dinner that night. Bun A jumped first and landed in the river and died, bun B went next followed by Bun C, D and E. Now it was Bun F's turn but he was scared, the last bun told him not to worry, they would jump together. TO make sure he didn't chicken out, Bun F was tied to the other dinner roll. As Bun F jumped, the dinner roll he was tied to had a change or heart and didn't budge. Bun F fell and screamed bloody murder but at the last second before hitting the water sprung back up and landed back on the bridge. Bun F was rejoiced and with tear filled eyes thanked the little dinner roll for not jumping, "If it wasn't for you, I would be dead right now, Thank You Bun G, Thank You!"
• I'm still sure that the "dirty forgotten joke" thing is the joke itself. "Bungie" was probably just a name created off the top of one of the founders' heads. That certainly seems more likely to me.

 •
Posted by: Buckethead7 Blame Stosh.
there ya go. As I recall from reading it was a punchline to a dirty joke like everyone else is saying. If that's true or not, well we'll probably never know.

 •
Posted by: History of Bungie - Primordial Soup Although the only ever official explanation reaches new heights of unbelievable lameness, the secret of the actual Bungie name has become so closely guarded, that even a few Grizzled Ancients either don't know or aren't sure if it's true. There truly is a very strange reason for the company being called "Bungie," and we daren't reveal it here. There are... penalties leveled at those who reveal the deepest secrets.
•
Posted by: burritosenior It's the punch line of a very dirty joke apparently. Or so I've been told. Nobody will tell us what the joke was though.
Im sure it isn't actually, theyre just saying that for good humour. Maybe its something to do with the way the company interacts with the community, ever extending.
