Whats the fastest way to kill ultras for engrams. Like is it a certain mission or strike or what?

You ask "fastest" but that may not be "best". The fact is that at the start I did the usual Draksis/Zydron thing that everyone did and got an exotic engram perhaps every 7th/8th time. Then they nerfed it so you couldn't just play them back to back. So then, when I remembered, I popped one before a strike or some mission that I knew would end with an ultra but got very poor results. Then this last weekend Xur turned up with a ton of things I wanted to by in a week when I had only gathered about 30 coins (because I was aways for a few days). So I spent last weekend pretty much doing back to back PoE28's (the first time back to PoE since TTK). It not only paid me the 40+ coins I was looking for but I remembered to play a ToC each time and I was finding I got an exotic engram on about every 3rd completion. What's more they did NOT turn into duplicates! Now it could all have been luck (RNG) - both the increased drop rate and the lack of the usual duplicates but if I want to farm some exotic engrams from now on I think I'd be headed to PoE28 and see how I get on there. BTW the "farm" a lot of people suggest for ToC is that hidden night inside the cabal ship on the Dreadnaught. You could try ToC with him, kill him, go to orbit then repeat and see how that goes? (you probably need to wait the 10 minutes or whatever it is before each kill though - in which case you might as well just do PoE).

As some have stated simply don't farm them. You will get a very poor drop rate if you don't wait at least 10 minutes or so between each kill. That's why I agree the best method is to do the strike playlist so at least while you grind you can level up gear and get some strike exclusive loot.

1 ReplyDon't do it.... You need about 10 mins between kills otherwise they don't work properly. Just do level 36 strikes.

1 ReplyI dont farm i just put one on whenever there is an ultra

4 RepliesThe last pre dlc mission for the Black Garden. All 3 statues count as Ultras. Kill 1st & that gives a chance & a checkpoint. Kill 2nd, another chance . But... Let the 3rd (final) one kill you. On the average, they seem to be 1 out of every 10, so, after killing 2nd but dying it'll start you back after the 1st kill, so you get to re~kill the 2nd one again, and yet another chance. So technically, you are in a looped checkpoint that keeps you rolling the dice. If you are superstitious about a time limit (8 minutes is the more frequently spoken potential cool down I've heard. May be true, may not be) then just pop a Vex glimmer consumable and just get some money killing adds before wiping, not killing #2. Then keep on keeping on till you are either tired of doing it, satisfied with the results or run out of 3oC's. Good luck bro, & have fun my friend...

I usually do strikes just so I can get some legendarys in there too but if I really want to farm them I got to the ultra knight on the dreadnaught.

I found the best method just using the level 36 strike playlist. 1 in 5 ToC turned an exotic. When I farmed Draksis 1 in 10.

1 ReplyEdited by riderdave: 11/4/2015 11:29:13 AMYou can just load up whatever boss CP you want (draksis from winters run, gate lord from eye of the gate lord, etc.) The key is you just have to wait in between kills. About 15 minutes at that. So the best thing to do is kill a major, switch to your 2nd character, kill a major, switch to your 3rd character, kill a major, and repeat. The time it takes to do the other two and load should be 10 minutes. So maybe wait a few minutes too just to be sure. Hit up the tower for a few minutes each change. The major I use is on the dreadnought. It's sort of hard to explain. But from where you spawn in you go straight, not through the ship, to the next outside area. The new name will pop up on the screen. As soon as you get there you hug the left wall and go into the ship. There should be cabal outside fighting. As your entering the ship make a right and follow the path. You'll enter a room where if you hug the left wall again there will be a ramp that leads to a closed door. This general area is by where the tank is on the brothers strike. You can actually jump over this door up the left side of it. Continue on that path and go all the way down and you'll find a major waiting. I chose this major because it takes some time to get to, which is actually good because you don't have to stall, and you don't have to worry about cps. My description made it sound far but it really isn't. There's probably videos on YouTube. I usually get exotics 1/3-1/4 of the time.

1 ReplyWhat the phuk are you guys farming? There isn't that many exotics. Good luck chasing the unicorn.

Just play the game normally and pop before an ultra.

6 RepliesUse the prison of elders. Final boss is ultra and chests at the end drop strange coins

Level 20 vanguard strikes. Period. I've gotten 1 out of 5 doing that and netted 20 DIFFERENT exotics
