You know what's funny? Efrideets spear with ambush scope had 0 AA.. And that was my go-to I'm year 1. I was SO good with it. I guess I prefer no aim assist then lol. But great post btw

2 RepliesEfrideets Spear has 10 aim assist? Wow. That thing felt so accurate..

7 RepliesAim assist also makes your aim follow the targets when they move. You put your reticle on a lane and if someone runs past your reticle, it will follow that target. The higher the aim assist, the stronger the pull and the longer it follows the target. So the higher the aim assist, the less work you have to do.

1 ReplyTL;DR On all guns apart from sniper: Aim assist works 2 ways, 1 the amount it will stick to your target and 2 the amount the bullet will "curve" to hit your target. On Snipers: Aim assist DOES NOT have any bullet curve the only way it assists is the amount you will stick to your target when aiming down sight.

1 ReplyDang max characters huh Well can you answer me this? What about No Land Beyond and Queenbreakers Bow aim assist?
-
so you are saying aim assist isn't the problem its SHORT GAZE!

Snipers and shotties are overused in trials. It almost turns into shottie snipers from halo. If you don't understand the reference, one person with a shotgun can rush and cause a sniping team massive trouble and visa-versa. How well a team does in trials is decided by how well you snipe or shotgun.
yes I know primaries exist but it doesn't do anything as much as special
4 RepliesEdited by sharkbait07: 11/21/2015 7:47:59 PMThe problem isnt shot guns or snipers being too good. The problem is they are used way to much. How do you fix it? You spawn with 12 ammo(more or less depending on armor) and that is all you get for a match. Problem solved.

Edited by jay p: 11/21/2015 5:13:38 PMThis thread had exactly 1,000 posts when I looked at it. Thought that was ironic given the subject matter. Here's my theory on how aim assist. There's a magic spot right in your sight, right under the reticle, which the game reads as a hit when it's hovering over an opponent and you pull the trigger. (This is obviously for hit scan weapons only). There is a hidden stat that says how large this spot is and it varies by weapon type (or even weapon archetype). Each weapon also has a hidden stat for scope drag. More of this stat gives the weapon more scope drag when you move over an enemy. These two numbers are inversely related. Weapons with high scope drag (snipers, scouts) will have a much smaller hit reticle. Weapons with much less scope drag will have a larger hit reticle. Aim assist increases these numbers by a percentage. So while it does increase the hit reticle of snipers, it starts as such a small number that the change isn't noticeable.
