3 RepliesThe problem i have with sniper rifles, is that you can continue to scope when you are getting shot. The flinch you get is not enough, you should not be able to scope at all.

Edited by kcjames1138: 12/2/2015 7:02:07 PMI believe there is more to aim assist than reticle slowdown and bullet magnetism. How do you explain the gun movement when you are zeroed in on one enemy doing precision damage and another enemy crosses in front and you reticle tracks the second enemy's head on its own?

3 RepliesThis sounds like a post trying to explain why your crutch shouldn't be nerfed.

Thanks. Great post

16 RepliesMy friend has a 1000 yard stare with Longview and hidden hand. That maxes out his aim assist lol. He says he gets headshots while aiming at the body

I think the big issue with snipers is latency. be it bad red bar taken walkers or good host latency, the ttk from first contact to trigger pull is seemingly so small but in actuality you had been scoped for about a second longer.

I love you for listing the scopes. Thank you so much.

2 RepliesLoved the post. I think since shotguns are being nerfed to ground, more people are using snipers so that's why the increase of sniper kills in crucible...combined with 1000 yard stare being easy to obtain. Sniper rifles take way more skill that a shotgun or even primaries. People are just salty and blame sniper rifles getting a buff when is not true. Snipers are just as good as before. If you got shot in the face, don't blame lag, aim assist or any other excuse...you got beaten by a good shot from a sniper...period.

1 ReplyI've read this entire thing, I wish more people would understand this, I've been in the FPS scene for a while and knew most of this. I'm not good with a sniper to begin with, even with high AA. I think people need to realize here that Snipers need some AA in order to work. I'd love to see some of these people go and play CS:GO on PC and see how they do(I wouldn't get a single kill). I don't get mad at snipers for AA, I mainly get mad cuz I ran into their line of sight, and sometimes the Lag Snipe behind a wall but I won't go further. All in all great post! Hopefully this whole topic about AA on Snipers just goes away.

1 Replysuch a long post! sorry, didnt read. thanks for taking the time to write though. Guardian OUT!

1 ReplyI rage of revive kills admittedly, but this is because of that bullshit immunity phase. Da fuq is that!? You -blam!-ing died, and your dumbass teammate comes to revive you and not only do both of you get an over shield, but you get immunity phases!?
-
1 ReplyI read this entire thing, and I agree completely, there is nothing I can do to go against this (even if I wanted to). Amazing research, that's what it takes. I love that you do this, though some people will still ignore the FACTS and they think of themselves as correct with their overblown ego. Also, I loved the video in edit 16, whoever created it. So true and so funny.

Edited by Hambo the Rat: 11/30/2015 2:53:13 PMOne team of 3 with last words and 1000 yard stares wiping my group in trials is okay. When it happenes 10 times in a row means either somethings up or everyone who plays trials is the next tripleWRECK. S'all I'm saying. PRAISE THE SUN.

7 RepliesOk. Now explain how a sniper can aim and headshot a player while (the sniper) is jumping in mid air (hunter's jump, so no slow motion while jumping etc.).

7 RepliesEdited by Osprai: 11/29/2015 8:41:36 PMWhy don't you look at this stream from the time that the link send you to and see a headshot that wasn't over my body whatsoever It's strange that everyone using a sniper is a pro mlg quick scope king now with 1000 yard stare. Even bad players get consistent headshots. I know they were bad because in primary combat, they were slow and missed shots consistently. So there's something going on that decreases the skill required for sniping. This is why they're nerfing shotguns. Making them so they require more skill to use effectively. Now 1000 yard stare is filling that gap for snipers by making everyone a sniping guru. Oh and lag. When they peek and shoot before you can even see them around the corner, that could be the actual problem. Not aim assist. It's host advantage. Being .5 seconds ahead of an enemy means everything in a shooter

4 RepliesI've read this thread and understand aim assist, but bungie should take it all out. Raise the skill gap!

1 ReplyI actually have trouble with here after. Easyer with 1k stare for me

4 Replies"Hidden Hand is only a fraction of difference" ............ everyone in HoW rolled their Her Benevolence for Hidden Hand cause a "small fraction" that doesn't do anything. That's like a shotgun users saying "Shot Package is only a small fraction" yet everyone rolled for it. Aim assist is aim assist no matter how you slice it. The magnetism "stickyness" while hard scoping is there. Aim assist on a weapon that has a chance to insta-kill you, can fire multiple rounds quickly, is pretty damn stable, is a joke. The end.
-
1 ReplyHow could you write all that
-
Hold the trigger on the SUROS... Wow
-
2 RepliesI don't know what it is but there's something that 1000YS sniper has that allows for headshots even if the aim is not deadlocked on the head but is somewhere around it. Either it's a hidden perk or the high aim assist, I don't care, but it's definetly there. Other snipers like, for example, Eirene or Tao Hua Yuan can't pull that shit off. Definetly worth investigating by devs.

3 RepliesUse queenbreaker's bow and then tell me aim assistance doesn't aim for you

Great info...thanks!
