Are sword kills even possible?
I have never gotten a kill with a sword in crucible, how do you people do it? How am I supposed to complete my exotic sword bounty? And the sword kills with a crota mask?

Blade dance + invis with sword hilt. Run at ppl from the [b][i][u]SIDE[/u][/i][/b] and bash. When you have heavy ammo [b][i][u]use block when needed[/u][/i][/b] Also run with your team mates not solo.

Thou art not a man of the blade. Get really good with using Blade Trance and just carry those strategies to sword.

5 RepliesEdited by Dog_Of_War_1138: 11/4/2015 3:09:31 AMA PRIMER FOR SWORDSMEN 1) Most important of all: WATCH YOUR RADAR If the enemy is a big red blur, he's within sword range. 2) IGNORE YOUR RADAR I know, I know... but once you have an enemy in range, you have to shift focus away from the radar to what's going on around you. Because there may well be another Guardian with a sword (or a shotgun) coming after you. 3) WATCH THE TERRAIN Avoid areas with no cover. Move between buildings or hallways. Lurk around corners. Keep the range short. Think of your sword as a shotgun with 0 range. 4) USE THE CAMERA The 3rd-person camera view can give you a subtle advantage sometimes, letting you look into places or around corners that you shouldn't be able to see. If you can see that there's an enemy several meters away, aiming in the opposite direction, you might be able to leap out and ambush them for a kill. 5) STAY MOBILE If they know where you are, they'll come after you, especially if you've scored a few kills already. Get a kill or two, then shift position. Don't crouch in the same corner twice in a row. Maintain the element of surprise. 6) MAYHEM IS YOUR FRIEND Half of the problem is waiting for heavy ammo to drop. In Mayhem matches, heavy ammo drops so fast you can pick up new ammo before the old runs out, if you avoid death between drops. And Heavy ammo drops from your kills, if they had it when they died. (thanks for reminding me, ErnieB) I got 11 out of my 25 kills in a single Mayhem Clash. 7) DON'T TRY SO HARD Just like the Thorn bounty, when you're counting every kill, they just don't seem to come (in my experience). Just go out and have fun. You'll be amazed when the quest step shows up as "completed". GOOD LUCK, GUARDIAN!

I knocked it out doing the 3v3 playlist. Less players to have to worry about. Also, I know someone already mentioned it before, but the 3rd person camera makes a giant difference.

If you have an exotic sword, you know it is possible

Any scatter grenade, two grenade Perk on exotic and then the hilt is how I did it. Scatter to weaken then, and lure them then use hilt to finish it of. Another possibility is high impact hand cannon. One shot (head or body) and a hilt swing. Hawk moon is a good choice

This week has an inferno playlist, go in there since there will be no radar. Beat people to death with the hilt, then secure heavy ammo by any means necessary

Use the 3rd person view to your advantage. Use it to peek around corners. Also know when back off if there is a group of enemies......especially right after the heavy spawn

Stubs kills are possible, hell crutch users are so easy to kill, I had a guy empty his Thorn on my while I ran towards him only using the stub lol.

I honestly use the empty hilt as much as the sword with ammo in it

Not possible. For me at least. I guess you really aren't meant to get every exotic anyway. Still got NTTE and Sleeper Simulant.

I got half of my sword kills with no ammo just using the hilt

You have to attack differently than you would normally. No blink R1 or RB spam with that weapon. I mean you can but. . . Anyway, a lot of people sacrifice their k/d and run around with the hilt just hitting everyone with their empty ice-cream cone till they complete it. Just play a Mayhem Playlist where heavy spawns more and you will get it. I got mine in zone control funny enough. I just played it real safe and and hung back behind cover close to capture points.

1 ReplyIf you don't care about your K/D ratio as I don't, do what I did. Go on Mayhem and equip the sword even if it doesn't have any ammo. And just go around beating people. Lol. It works.

How to get sword Kills as a Titan. Step 1: Equip Defender with Armor of Light Step 2: Gain Super Step 3: Pop Ward of Dawn, and pull out sword Step 4: Kill stupid enemies who enter your Ward with your sword hilt(no ammo needed) Step 5: Disregard Females acquire exotic sword

Saw a vid of a hunter get 13ish kills with one within like 2 mins while defending a point lol it was nuts

If you do get ammo keep in mind voind beats void an solo burns through solar so watch out for the rockets an snipers xD chews through ammo
