How do people snipe? (Honest answers please)

Seriously! I've always shotgunned or fusioned because that's my game style. I decided to grab my 1000-Yard Stare with Hidden Hand (assuming I couldn't miss) and play some crucible. On top of no good clear shots or me shooting after they ran by, people were able to one-shot me from auto range with their sniper after a quick-scope! Props to those people. I really want to learn how to snipe, so any honest tips and help are appreciated. Edit 1: Firstly, thanks for all the positive feedback! So far I've only seen a small handful of rude people. I really like the kind side of the forums. It's a good change from the usual salt (oh god, I hope I didn't just jinx it). Edit 2: On an unrelated note, this is a good example of why K/D ratios shouldn't judge skill! As a mediocre PvP player, learning to use new weapons butchers my K/D beyond repair. I could care less, just a comment to throw around.

 • A couple of tips I've heard, and am currently trying to incorporate into my play are: 1. Do Not stay scoped in for more than a few seconds, especially if your just waiting for a shot. 1a. Always keep an eye on you tracker. For rogue blips. 2. Try to get your target as close as possible to the the center of your screen(where your crosshairs are) so when you scope in you can make the minor adjustment you need to line up your sight. 3. Don't stand in the open. As weird as it may seem, you can use cover to your advantage. The less of your guardian exposed, means less chance to get hit by enemy bullets. 4. Don't take unnecessary chances. If you know they have a bead on you, or you hiding spot, don't peek! Find another angle and try to see them first. It makes all the difference, especially if you miss your first shot. That's all I have time for now.... Another thing is to just keep trying. You will make improvements, as long as you keep striving to be better. Good luck buddy!
