To those who say 1000 yard stare takes no skill
Do me a quick stat check:
Find the aim assist numbers (via planet destiny) of the following:
Y-09 longbow synthesis - (53 AA)

After doing so, find a basis for your claim that 1000 yard stare has a high aim assist. I've heard everything from hidden hand is too good (it isn't) to it can shoot off revive (nothing to do with AA in the first place). If it beats you so bad you think it's op, then learn to counter snipe. Not hard.
Edit: some people think I have a problem with sniping off res. I don't, but it is a counter I've heard when I say 1000 yard stare isn't op. Definitely not an issue for me

This is whats peoples problems are with this gun. They get killed by it a lot, why? Because its one of the 4 year 2 snipers that is able to rez snipe. Of those 4, one is the exotic black spindle which isnt really worthy of the exotic slot in pvp, another is the stillpiercer which is exclusive to hunters, and the eirene rr4 isnt exactly the easiest to get since you have to get lucky through engrams or wait for the gun smith to bring it. Now, this is where the 100 yard comes into play, its an amazing sniper to start out with, able to rez snipe yada yada, buts its also the most easily obtained of the 4, so of course everyone is going to be using this one, why work harder for the others if this ones just as good if not better? You get this gun for free through cayde, you can get ot from vanguard packages, or you can just flat out buy i from yhe vanguard. This sniper is extremely reliable and also extremely easy to get a hold of. Thats why a lot of people use it and thats why a lot of people complain about it because everyone uses it, so it must be OP right? No its just a solid easily obtained sniper.

5 Replies1000 yard is the premier sniper in ToO because of it's arch-type and the res mechanics. But the Defiance of Yasmin is the premier sniper in all other crucible formats.

1 ReplyWhat the aim assist do? I don't really care for perks not a huge fan of snipers in cruicible. Always use my primary. Only time I use my sniper is in the raids or pve. I like my 1000yard because 3crits give extra bullet making it 5in total

1 ReplyThey're just saying that because everybody has one. So the majority of people are getting killed by that particular sniper so it must be OP. They would have said the same thing about LDR or Longbow had sniping been a bigger thing back then. It's just moved from felwinter to party crasher to 1000 yard. It's a pattern of you see.
