How can I get rare or legendary sparrows
I'm level 40
I'm rising fast in light
Yet I have no bikes to speed up my progression
I like completing missions fast
I've only had this for three weeks and I'm this far
Where can I get one

If you live in the US, have $3, or have a friend who has those, then Redbull has their event going on till 12/31. The first one you unlock is pretty easy and has the same stats and perks as the tumbler. The second step has you doing crucible and gives you the ghost (which is useless), and then the third is for an item that upgrades the 150 sparrow to 160 (the current highest speed).

Besides the ones available for purchase from quartermasters, the Vault of Glass and Crota's End raids both have a chance to reward a legendary sparrow.

Vanguard or crucible quartermasters sell blue ones, Xur sells plasma drives to upgrade them.
