Edit:
I have decided to add my opinion in here instead of posting it constantly, so here you guys go
---------------------------------------------------
What makes the Sunbreaker so OP is the massive damage output to massive damage reduction ratio that it has. This is a crucial factor for supers.
The shield of a super is mostly dependent on the Range, the Damage output, and the time it takes to generate that damage output.
-Supers like Nova Bomb and Fist of Havoc have a high shield value because of the time they take for their damage output to be realized. It is low, so it seems only fair that they get a shield for the one time they use it.
-Supers like Bladedancer and Stormcaller have a relatively low range, thus making them more vulnerable on long range encounters. A less powerful shield generates as a balance for this matter, although I have questioned this shield before on Bladedancers considering the Blink/Super combo.
-Supers like Golden Gun (and in my opinion Sunbreaker) have both a long range and a significant time to generate this output. A shield would in this case be a weird thing to give these classes, since over all effective primary weapon ranges these supers are effectively dropping enemies. So no shield should be granted to both these supers.
I've decided to exclude Nightstalker, Defender and Sunsinger, because I think of these classes as rather supportive. It could be argued that Sunsinger belongs to the second group, but given the fact that it's effect is to charge abilities faster rather then to focus on a specific damage output I wouldn't place it there.
This is why Sunbreaker is OP.
Every other ability is very well balanced (grenades are on a good standard and the melee grants burn and even melting point which can be quite useful indeed.) HoS however is with the given super standards very unbalanced.
I hope this made my opinion clear to you.

Thanks. I needed a bit more salt on my fries. :) Yum!

Here we go again...it's gonna get nerfed soon so there ya go. We have the worst subclasses for PvP but I don't care. At the end of the day, you'll eat my flaming hammers or fists full of lightning anyway, so it's all good to me.

Lol you use a hunter 10x more than any other class. Scrub.

I'll stay on the beach, thank you.

3 RepliesMy last game on my Titan last night I got around 45 kills I believe. I popped my super at least 3-4 times getting at least 3 kills each time. So when you do the Math, the whole game I at least got between 9 to 12 kills with my super alone. That leaves out 33 kills with grenades and guns. I guess I really am bad at this game. :(
-
Kinda. The pinch does more burn damage and burns longer than the sunsinger does. Last grenade seriously burns forever when it lands on you. And the hammers do have a stupid range and give way to much armor. But if you have a full fire team they can be taken down with focused fire

Edited by Iggister: 11/6/2015 2:59:48 PMNo. The only thing OP about it is the perk that grants health regen after kill. That's it. The ratio of damage output to damage reduction isn't actually true - void warlock with helmet, arc Titan w unstoppable - you say yourself you don't consider those OP.

Situation: Playing clash on Pantheon, game almost over. My GG hunter heads towards the middle, activates super. Turn the corner, see a hammer of Sol titan, put a GG shot right into his chest, leaves him with a sliver of health. He throws hammer 5 feet to my side, it kills me instantly and regens his health and shield almost instantly. Fair?

Shut up Meg hunter.

2 RepliesEdited by YFT Zero: 11/6/2015 11:55:36 AMI haven't used it much in crucible but what if I just enjoy the subclass instead of just using it to win? And no, you shouldn't completely remove the shield that would ruin in for PvE and make it a worse GG in PvP.

1 ReplyI've been a Titan main since Day 1(of the Beta). I don't use Defender in PvP because, to be honest, I suck with it lol. And between Striker and Sunbreaker, Sunbreaker is much more suited to PvP, at least in my opinion. So yes, I'm gonna use Sunbreaker in PvP if I play it.

These click bait title are great because you know what they are going to be about. "I got killed by something I'm not and I'm going to go whine about it to random people". Personally I'm a sunbreaker and I'm ok with it even if it gets nerfed. I have skill unlike you and don't require a great super. Heck I may even try defender in crucible just because of you. Thank you for showing me the life aloha snack bar
not really tho
LOL...another whining thread by a saltcovered butthurt hunter...Imagine that

If the makers of the game created this subclass why the -blam!- wouldn't we use it? Lol stupid . I've been waiting to throw hammers since TTK announcement. We all know that if bungie nerfed sun breakers people are gonna bitch anyways so why don't you just stfu

Edited by XxT00EasyxX: 11/6/2015 11:29:23 AMYou're bad because you use the best subclass available. Logic at its best.
