The perk does just say 'grants shadestep' so you would think it should.
Edit: I was just trying to gather an opinion on whether the description suggested it should in fact work on other subclasses. I'm guessing the misleading description is why they changed it. On a side note, some of these comparisons are hilarious, keep them up.
Edit 2: some people seem to be getting offended that I was trying to gather opinions. It's just a game guys calm down.
Edit 3: Had to edit the title for those very special people. Also, so many idiots comparing this to wearing the impossible machines and having landfall for other warlock subclasses. :')

4 RepliesIn my opinion, it should be changed altogether to be more in line with the other Y2 exotics that grant subclass nodes. As fun as it can be, shadestep isn't exactly frequently useful, and the usefulness of it is far more geared to PvP. Landfall and Explosive Pyre, while not being game breaking to be paired with something else from their respective columns, both have more useful applications in both PvP and PvE. That's just my opinion though, it certainly won't ever be changed, and to answer the on topic question, no, it should be limited to use only while using Nightstalker.
-
I already hear people complain about how OP Hunters are, I don't want to give them another reason to complain even more. I LOVE being a hunter, but I think that we're good as is right now and it shouldn't be used for other subclasses besides Nightstalker.
-
Absolutely not. Can you imagine the power of shadestep+blink? Also, to the people using Khepris Sting as an example, it didn't say it granted stalker. It just says crouch to go invisible. Subclass perks don't work on other subclasses. With good reason.
-
It would be much more worth it if it did
-
Idk how fair it would be if you could blink then shadestep
-
5 RepliesIf ahamkara spine gives my void bow a tripmine!
-
4 RepliesShade step is the NIGHTSTALKER ability node therefore it belongs with only NIGHTSTALKER. This is like saying if Titans got an exotic armor piece that grants shoulder charge, they should be able to shoulder charge with any subclass but I bet you would be mad and protesting that wouldn't you?
-
5 RepliesIf so then apply the other helmet abilities in the same way.
-
Edited by MYEH_CHICKENS: 11/2/2015 3:35:33 PMNo because shade step is an unlockable in the subclass Nightstalker The helmet only "unlocks shade step early" It's a class specific ability If it's not in the other classes then it shouldn't 've available
-
GF is the same as Helm of Innermost Light for Titans. It is specific to a single subclass and allows you to double up perks in that tree.
-
8 RepliesMaybe then No Backup Plans could work on sunbreakers -.-
-
-
Shadestep+blink no just no im sorry i like shadestep and all but that would be way to unbalanced considering it would be used in bladedancer and golden gun.
-
Most of the people saying no, have titans and warlocks which have subclasses that do way more dps than a quiverless bow and arrow lol, shadestep is the most usefull chip we have from getting away from the other supers, or getting offensive.Hunters aren't the tanks here..
-
1 ReplyTerrible counter argument
-
11 RepliesOk but you would have to apply it to every single exotic that gives a perk. So I get to landfall as I self Rez, thanks. Explosive pure procs on shoulder bash and lightning grenades, thanks.
-
Yeah let's go Shadestep-blink-Shotgunners!
-
Lmfao. No thank you. I'd rather not have a shade stepping Golden gun with trip mines and throwing knifes. Don't even get me started on a blinking, shade stepping Bladedancer.

4 RepliesWhy should it? Do the impossible machines work with voidwalker? Or the helm of Saint 14 work with sunbreaker? It's fine the way it is.
-
5 RepliesOnly if No Black Up Plans work for the other subclasses
-
3 RepliesOk then, if hunters get the helmet that grants shadestep, warlocks should get the gauntlets that grants landfall, and titans the gauntlets that grants explosive pyre, and if you say bad argument its not, its the same wording, different perks...
-
-
Lol blink shadestep Blink shadestep Blink shadestep the enemies cant Hit you
-
7 RepliesEdited by Chryspii: 11/2/2015 4:21:48 PMThen Warlocks should get Landfall on Sunsingers and Voidwalkers.
-
2 RepliesJust like, idunno, immolation fists grant explosive pyre, and the impossible machines grant landfall right? Enemies killed by FoH explode in firey chaining explosions. Self res miniFoH. Need I go on?
