Chapter 10: "The Hunt Begins"
November 10th, 2557
Location: Revelation
The Sol-Didact conducts his troops to the Unbound Canyons, south ridge of Revelation, Covenant units are starting to abandon the Shield World it's self. Kolak prepares for his "Final Stand" against the mighty Forerunners. Covenant Spirits head for the Unbound as well. The Spirits' open up the troop carrier compartment as Elite Zealots as well as Kolak drop down. The Sol-Didact stops his troops, almost in a frozen position. The Sol-Didact speaks with a metallic, multi voice, almost like the Warden Eternal.
"What brings you here, Pestilence? If you continue this conflict, I shall annihilate you and your kind. You serve no purpose here, only I and I alone. I'm the one with true power..."
The Zealots load up storm rifles, carbines and ignite their energy swords. The Prometheans do the same as the Sol-Didact summons his blade. He signals his warriors to attack and they do as commanded.
The two-hundred zealots charge in the battle, easily out numbered by the Promethean forces. Super heated rounds to Hardlight projectiles go off. Soldiers warp in, as one teleports in a Zealot instantly stabs it and throws him off. Kolak challenges the Sol-Didact into combat. Kolak clashes blades with the Sol-Didact, the steel blade that once belonged to the highly honored Haka, has been used once more. The Sol-Didact takes no hesitation and slashes Kolak twice as he bring Kolak closer with an invisible force.
"You weak, insolent, arrogant fool. You can never beat me, You shall die by my hand!"
He pushes Kolak away, as he then gets up.
"For the 'Chavamee name!"
He charges at the Sol-Didact as he impales an exposed part of his armor as it sends a cyan-like glow. He pulls out the old blade and throws it off the canyon. The Sol-Didact's blade disappears, as he then clenches his fists, as spikes activate from his knuckles. The Covenant general goes after him one last time, as he is hit in the face, destroying the ceremonial helmet. He activates two energy daggers and tries to counter the Sol-Didact's might. He then stabs the Didact's shoulder and his chest. The Sol-Didact then kicks him off, sending him the ground. He then slowly walks to the injured Kolak.
"You see, I merely adapt to your attacks, you're nothing special in my eyes."
He then steps on Kolak's chest, destroying bones and damaging internal organs. Kolak then coughs up the indigo blood all sangheili as he the perishes.
The fighting between Prometheans and Zealots lasts for almost an hour. A Knight Strategos then demolishes a band of Zealots with an incineration cannon. Soldiers then go to an assault state, as soldiers with Splinter turrets come in, annihilating more Zealots. Only twenty two remain as they go off, retreating back.
"There is always a dawn, but tis one has met dusk it seems. No matter..."
All the Soldiers and the Sol-Didact teleport from the Unbound Canyons.
The Headhunter, fully aware of the bounty placed on him, knows how to take down Fireteam Spirit.
"They'll be madmen just to hunt me down, their fight will be pathetic. So what I'll do is... actually I don't know just kill 'em, that'll work."
The Headhunter drives down a dirt road with a gungoose, until he sees a band of Promethean Soldiers.
"Let's see what this an do."
He fires off the grenade launchers from the gungoose, knocking down two soldiers off their feet, as he jumps from the vehicle as he lands on one of the downed Soldiers as he blows it out with his M45 shotgun. He then gets behind another as he pulls it's head backward and stabs him in the neck. The remaining solider warps out.
"That was perfect."
