Why is touch of malice so important?
Seriously, unlimited ammo... Yay! I don't see how it's THAT useful in the raid.
Edit 1: I didn't realize that the aura would protect you from losing health when firing the last bullet. That makes more sense. But I still don't see why so many people make it mandatory in their raid groups.
Edit 2: ok dps I get it. But is it honestly necessary for the raid? So far it just seems like people want it to be super easy.
Edit 3: it has finally been concluded yes the touch of malice is very useful in the raid and no it is not mandatory. People just look for the easiest way to complete a task. This is the way of life.

3 RepliesWhy do you keep editing your post to ask the same question again. YES it is necessary. NO, not because it's impossible without it, but because it makes things much more manageable. The mechanics ate difficult enough for some people to figure out, can't have dps as an issue also.

It's not required but it makes it an easier encounter. Just like if I asked you to chop down a tree with an axe. You can do it but having a chainsaw would make the job easier.

Nothing is necessary for the raid, things just make it easier, like having ToM and at least 1 titan and nightstalker

I like it bc it has a good amount of damage to oryx, you don't have to reload when shooting oryx and it allows me to freely use my other weapons for adds and ogres instead of saving r them for oryx

Not having to reload and knowing you're doing good DPS is just one less thing to worry about in hard mode, where dumb things will keep happening to mess up your runs.

There is a video on YouTube of a clan 4 manning hard oryx. The guy filming wasn't using malice and their light levels were 308-313. So no it is definitely not needed. Most 310 weapons will do just fine as long as everyone communicates and does their job. Yes malice makes it a bit easier but that's it.

Sooooo necessary for hard raid. Not necessary in the slightest for normal.

2 RepliesPeople ABSOLUTELY ask for it just because they want to do a "Quick & Easy" raid. But yes, you can do it without it. They're too lazy and, you know, ain't nobody got time for that.

3 RepliesEven with double damage on last bulletl is it really that much more DPS on a sister and to flinch Oryx. Other then those two specific instances I can't see it out performing other exotics.

It's not strictly necessary, but it certainly trivializes Sisters and makes Oryx super easy to stagger if you have at least 3 of them in your raid team. So for folks that just want to knock out the raid super quickly that's why they ask for ToM only. There's still going to be plenty of groups that aren't that picky.

3 RepliesI'm sure once everyone is strong enough to kill hard oryx we will see other weapons other than ToM. It's basically a crutch until you can walk on your own. I still prefer black spindle over ToM.

1 ReplyAs of now it's pretty much a must. Once players are closer to 315 you won't need it to easily drop Oryx. With a team around 315 it will be just like doing normal mode.

It's not nescessary for oryx, makes it easier sure but not needed, All my hard oryx kills I was only one using malice, everyone else various other weapons and he staggers just fine. Again though it's easy to get and definitely speeds things up so no reason not to use it for daughters and oryx

5 RepliesNo its not as important as everyone says. Did hard mode, and beat oryx with zero TOM. Snipers are the bomb. People just like it easy, dont like a challenge.

It's very situational. I almost have to use it anywhere else if I want high LL, but I want to infuse it so bad, but I know it will be a necessity in raids
