Why does everyone think 1000 Yard Stare > Black Spindle?
So I've seen a lot of posts about how 1000 Y.S. is better DPS than B.S. However this is impossible: the black spindle effectively has an 18 round magazine that you don't have to reload. Over the course of firing all your special ammo, BS will get more damage done in a given period, eg the damage phase on Warpriest.
Seems to me the people claiming otherwise are just those that couldn't clear the final room on the BS mission...

Edit 2: I am talking about DPS here, not general utility. BS isn't made for being good in loads of situations, it's made for massive DPS on bosses and big targets
Edit 3: people don't seem to understand: [b][u]I am only talking about DPS[/u][/b]. I don't care that it's legendary/more versatile/whatever, I'm making a point that in terms of pure DPS, the best that TYS can do is come close, and that's if you have a perfect rolled sniper and armour.

I've recently got my BS up to about 316. I generally come out with top damage using both snipers. And comparable damage to boot. While the BS has higher impact than other snipers and the ability to fire the entire reserve without reloading, it also has a much lower ROF. Generally by the time I'm finished unloading all my sniper reserves, the DPS time on WP is nearly over. When using a lower impact/high ROF sniper, the sniper isn't my sole form of damage. I can generally fully unload all reserves with the reload time and get a full magazine from my scout, which is around 25 rounds plus. It works even better with the raid sniper (yes cocoon can be useful), as I can reload about twice, switch to scout and back to sniper when it reloads. So essentially I'm doing the exact same thing as the black spindle. Continuous dps, which in the end results in more damage overall compared to the single DPS source from a BS. Black spindle is a nice sniper but not the best in my opinion and experiences.
