Halo 3 Rank reset.
Now as some of you may remember back in Halo 2 days bungie pulled off a couple of rank resets and put everyone back to zero, now this was to bring people together in closer ranks and help people get games faster (i think).
What i think would be a good idea if Bungie did the same again.
It would speed up MM in the lower population playlists, give people stuck on a rank the chance to start again, it would remove the point of having a second account, destroy the market for selling GT's for 50's and stop people boosting for 50.
I think it would make Halo 3 a better online game to play.

A rank reset wouldn't fix anything ppl that bought accounts will buy accounts again ppl that cheated to get a 50 will cheat again. The only ppl that are going to get screwed are the lower ranks they are going to be facing Generals at low ranks. Anyways a reset will only happen if something really bad happens with the tru skill system. Rank reset would be the worst move Bungie could make. People keep whining how they face off 50's when they are low levels or seccond accounters nowadays if you put everyone back to 0 youll be facing former generals over and over again and then youll have thousands of threads whining about it. Plus last time i checked rank is supposed to show off your SKILL not supposed to be used for finding games faster, heck i dont have problems finding matches at all.

Many people who have worked to get their service record looking pretty will quit the game (like myself) 2. Players that have bought their 50s will buy another 50 the second that they become available 3. Low leveled players will stop playing because they will be tired of playing people who used to be 50s over and over and over and over 4. You will be a commander (sorry, I couldn't resist :D )

another reason why the ranks were reset wwas becoz everyone was cheating... there isn't this problem on halo 3 (there is cheating but not on the same scale).

I was gone for 6 months because of school, and I'm just awful now. Aiming wise, I'm like a Commander. My strategy and everything else has come back fine, but my BR is awful now. Putting aside my bias, I still think there needs to be a rank reset. There's just too much crap that's gone on in the ranking system.

You're right about the second accounts, im sure they are trying to get to 50, but as soon as most people get that 50 they just make a new one and start over. A rank reset has nothing to with whether or not you can get back to the rank you were before.

If that were to happen then it would be the same thing as Generals making second accounts, we would dominate all the lower ranked kids (not saying they're all bad or that we are all mighty bringers of doom and destruction either) that are there just to have fun or maby even try to get their rank up. I mean honestly, does anyone see a difference between reseting a Generals rank or a General making a second account? Because I dont, either way, it will be unfair. Also, like I said above, Im not saying all the lower ranked people are bad because Ive played with some Captains who are pretty good, but they just like to have fun and not get their rank up but also Ive played with other Generals who probably dont know what the hell S1 through S3 on Guardian is.
