Why do people think that leaving the ogres alive, so you don't have to deal with the Knights, is a good strategy? Every time we try that we fail miserably. Then we go back to the normal way and beat it. Too many scrub teammates dying from the ogre eye blast.

Yeah it's a hit or miss

1 ReplyEdited by the ben obiwan: 10/29/2015 6:26:11 PMAgreed. It seems to be random death mode. When you survive a cycle, it's a piece of cake, so people think it's easy. Then someone will die and make some stupid excuse. Then you survive a cycle and everyone says "see how easy this is". Then someone else will die from some, apparently, bogus situation. Its basic psychology to defend something that requires little effort, but yields results, even if the results are much less consistent. Even if we were to have solid data, clearly stating that this method has a much smaller chance of success, most people would argue against fact, to defend their opinion, because they have invested so much time into it.

I rather kill ogres. It's easy that way
-
First, the pedestal jumpers should not shoot the ogres. Their job is to jump on the pedestal when told, go to the quadrant that is furthest from the ogres and literally sit down. The ogres wont eyeblast them because they cant. Second, i wouldnt do that strat with my team either. We do the safer and more consistent controlled kill strategy.
-
It is likely that you are not doing it correctly. When the ogres spawn, do not allow the plate holders to attack them. Leave that 100% up to the floaters. The plate holders should just be crouching out of Line of Sight from them. The floaters can do the job by themselves. The job of the plate holder, is to hold the plate, and jump to the top as soon as the relic runner announces that he/she has it.

Too many scrub teammates dying from the ogre eye blast.
Quit playing with scrub teammates then lol
-
It's not even your teammates fault. It's rng if the ogres feel like shooting you or not. And there is nothing you can do about one when it starts to shoot at you

1 ReplyAmazingly people consider that strat a "cheese". Both still require a competent fireteam. The Oryx fight really exposes the people who aren't quite up to snuff regardless of strategy.
-
Wtf. Ive never heard of that. I will never try it either
-
16 RepliesThe no knight "strategy" is for weak ass fireteams with no skill or a clue at what's actually going on, because let's be honest Whoever thinks it's a solid idea to not kill things is a scrub and a loser... That's just my two cents..
-
It's a DPS play: if the platform guys can't kill ogres and knights fast enough, the ToM/bubble guys up top can.
-
1 ReplyExactly the normal way is so better because the no night strat someone always ends up dying are a night gets one of the blights I don't understand why people can't just do it the normal way and actually not get carried by the no night strat
-
The only knights you could conceivably have a problem with are the 2 that spawn from the last two ogres. At that point though the guys should have the relic and shield, move middle into the shield and shoot from there. If one makes it by, oh well, move on. Our ogres die before they can get out of the pool anyhow, easy stuff.
-
Until everyone in the fireteam is a high enough level, not killing the Knights is a very viable strategy. It just takes communication.
-
1 ReplyBecause you are doing it wrong if you are getting shot by ogres
-
6 RepliesNo it's not...: killing the ogres is ridiculously stupid and hard trying to get people to kill the Knights.
-
My whole team beat the raid, underleveled, and by killing ogres. It's very simple. You are literally killing one extra enemy per person.
-
1 ReplyGuardians, I have yet to do the Raid but in regards to the Knights, if you kill them do you have to worry about them respawning on that same round? I am seeking any advice possible for the Hard Raid so that I can be ready. Grind on Guardians.
-
Yep. Haven't joined a group in about a week that wants to do it the normal way. I'm always like, "okay, whatever you say. I guess I didn't have to get up for work tomorrow."
-
3 RepliesCompleted it first time with a LFG group last night using the no ogre strat . Never spoken to the dudes I was with, just went in. Killed oryx. Got out.
-
Both are easy, the no knights way can be helpful if a bunch of people are under light level
-
If I team has to use this strat, they are garbage. end of story if you can't kill and Ogre and then a easy ass night that dies in 2 shots, git gud
-
1 ReplyJust because it doesn't work for you doesn't mean it won't work for someone else. That's the thing about having multiple strategies. You get to choose. Crazy right?
-
1 ReplyI've done it both ways and both are easy.
-
Exact opposite experience. To each it's own. But no Knights is easier strategy if you got teammates that don't know: "wait until after you get full health and the guys on daughter platforms have the ogres attention to jump up there yourself" of course their dumb as would die to ogres. But I have never taken more than twice to beat it that way with random lfg dolks
