Flayer mantle farming, 20 or 36?
So those Flayer mantles are pretty sick looking yeah? How did yall who have em get em? Was it from the regular farming of the Dust Palace strike at lvl 20 or did you get it from the Strike playlist at 36? Or hell the Heroic at 40? Ive been farming for just one, would love the arc one really, but i'll take any of them cause i got shaders to match lol! Point me in the right direction please!

So far no luck ive been hopping in and out of the Heroic strike list all afternoon (aside from when i had to go to work ugh) and despite the several Dust Palace runs ive made no Flayer mantles have dropped yet. The good news? Ive gotten a year 2 Dont Touch me and Crest of the Alpha Lupi as well as my second Imago Loop hand cannon! I fed my first one to the new jewel of my collection, it has Triple Tap, Extended Mag/Feather Mag/Sword of Aegus (Minotaur buster!) and Army of One making it a damn fine solo's handcannon! Im happy now back to the grind----->
YES! I FINALLY GOT ONE AND ITS THE ARC FLAYER MANTLE I WANTED WOOOHOOO!!!!

1 ReplyEdited by gerManicjag: 10/29/2015 5:46:48 PMThe ideal way is to farm it while it's the nightfall so you can run it over and over again exclusively with a higher chance of rewards. That's how I got my solar one. But since it's not the NF this week, I would suggest grinding lvl 36 strikes.

Nightfall seems to have the better drop rate. That's where I got mine.

2 RepliesDoing the lvl 20 strike over and over will guarentee that you play Dust Palace over and over. But you have low legendary drop rates. Playing the lvl 40 strike playlist gives you higher chance of legendaries, but with only a 1/5 chance of getting the correct strike. Your best best is to wait until Dust Palace is the Nightfall and farm it then. If you cant wait, then choose from the above options.

I can confirm that the strike specific loot drop is significantly higher during NF. Yesterday i got the Darkblade fusion rifle the first run and the Darkblade helmet the second run. :)

I grinded 17 straight Dust Palace strike when it was Nightfalls and I finally got 1. A buddy of mine got 1 a few before me.

Yeah I got mine from the nightfall. I heard from people who farmed nightfalls and got all 3 easily.

Last weeks nightfall was ur best bet. Every time I ran it atleast two people got cloaks

I don't think any strike specific loot has dropped for me at lvl 20. I have 2x darkblade helm, darkblade spite, mark of undying mind and that scout rifle...cant remember the name. Getting flayers strike when no cloak will drop and 3oC not working blows so much.

I helped anyone possible with the nf last week because the odds were increased, got it after 5 times (solar).

You should have farmed the nightfall when it was up. Strike exclusive gear had a significantly higher chance of dropping during nightfall

Grinding heroic strikes is your best bet since you missed the nightfall last week.

Oh, you missed the opportunity to farm them in the nightfall last week? That's bad for you. Could be a long time until Dust Palace is nightfall again. The drop rate of strike specific loot is much higher in nightfall strikes. My personal experience: I tried getting a Flayer mantle for weeks. I farmed the level 36 strike playlist and the heroic strike playlist. No success. Then Dust Palace became nightfall. I got all 3 Flayer mantles from ~17 nightfall strikes. My advice: I don't recommend farming the level 20 strike from Mars. You'll always find people that claim they got a Flayer mantle from the level 20 strike, but I don't believe that. And no one ever showed proof. Your only chance IMO is farming level 36 and heroic strike playlist. Or wait until Dust Palace is nightfall again.

4 RepliesWent into the dust palace through the planet directory. First try, got void. Then been trying to get the other two same way and mixed in strike Playlist but didn't get anything. Probably 50 strikes. Then Finally it was a nightfall. After two runs I got a solar mantle.
