Halo 4 and 5 prove that. I'm glad that I got to experience true Halo on Bungie's servers back in the day. I remember 16 player BTB, when the vehicles weren't made of paper, when you had to actually land a headshot with the sniper and no aim assist, when you had to control the heavy weapon spawns, and when there weren't loadouts or armor abilities. Sure, Halo was simple then, and even boring to most, but that's what made it so fun and competitive. I know that Reach had some of those features in it, but I believe that was caused more by Microsoft who wanted to lure in CoD players. That's why Bungie left Halo and I understand.
Thanks for the fun Bungie, I had fun playing Halo from 2002-2010.

2 RepliesBungie left Halo to make Destiny. Not because of what you're talking about. Halo is still a good game. You can't keep thinking everyone will make Halo games exactly like Bungie. Get over the change and accept it and move on.

2 RepliesAnd that's the problem. You spend so much time analyzing the changes, and scrutinizing over the smallest things, that you can't see the game for what it is. It's different, yes. It has changed. Change is inevitable in the face of time. But that doesn't mean it's bad. Change, for all intents and purposes, can be good. Just as Halo 5 is good. Best multiplayer I've played since 2. Love the game. I acknowledge it's differences, and move on. It's a great game. I love what they've done with the lore, and that they're giving it a deeper story. You see, rather than look at the game, you're all comparing it to bungie Halo's. Your views of those Halos is inaccurate due to nostalgic bias. You see it as the perfect time. It was, for in your life you had your friends over, you played Halo, you had a laugh. That time in your life has ended. Now you see Halo as part of your childhood, or adolescence. So you revere the games, seeing them as flawless master pieces. That is not the case. I've had more fun in Halo 5 than I did in Halo 3. I'm not afraid to accept change. Maybe you jus don't like it, and that's subjective. You have a right to think that. But don't get stuck on the train of thought that Bungie Halos were superior in every way. That's nostalgia talking. Please keep this in mind whenever you're comparing something to something else. Don't just let your bias and nostalgic emotions dictate what is good and what isn't. My apologies for being so verbose, yours truly, Caboose.

As a halo CE on xbox player back in its infancy I can say we will never have those days of huge LAN parties with friends and simple gameplay back. But, it does not make it bad, just different.

1 ReplyThe story as it is is so fractured and nonsensical now, they don't seem to care about it at all, what they've done with it makes me nauseous.

I agree that bungie's halo was unique, but that doesn't make 343 halo bad. Bungie used a lot of epic cutscenes and meshed comedy with action, while 343 chooses a more intense approach and really delves into the lore. I just think people can't accept that kind of change.

4 RepliesTrue but I love Halo 5. It's much better than 4. Skill based pvp......finally!
-
I feel so bad for 343, they won't get to make any original IP, Microsoft will just force them to make Halo so they can milk the series dry.
-
11 RepliesCaused by Microsoft? Have you played Destiny?

5 RepliesMost of "bungie" stayed behind at 343, which makes halo.......

I thought Halo 4 was great and I started with combat evolved at my church and then bought halo 3 so I know what it was like before 343. And I thought halo reach was kind of over talked a lot. It wasn't as fun as everyone said it was.

One day I hope Destiny's PvP will be like Halo's.

RIP halo ive missed it and will continue to miss it
