Shadow Shot: A super that increases damage by 35% and can get a critical on body shots. It lasts 5 to 8 seconds depending on what perks you use.
Melting Point: A Sunbreaker subclass perk that does the same effect as Shadow Shot but deals 50% increased damage and lasts 6 seconds.
Something seems odd...
You can't stack these two on top since Shadow Shot takes over since it is more important due to it being a super. So why is a perk better than a super? Well, time to switch to Sunbreaker.

5 Repliesmelting point only goes to one target dummy. shadow shot tethers across multiple targets and suppresses them typical Hunter wanting just the one kill instead of helping his team by clearing adds *sigh* oh well ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

For pve you should be comparing shadowshot with weapons of light, as most Titans run that in end game.

1 ReplyGood luck Melting Warpriest.

2 RepliesAre you sure they don't stack? I thought they did ... Never really checked the stats but judging by eye we do more when we tether, WoL and MP Golgoroth, than when it's just tether and WoL. Appreciate that's unscientific, but if you are right it just means I'll run in, punch him in the nuts first, then hunter can shadow shot once MP runs out. Does MP and WoL stack?

Melting point only increases damage for one enemy, shadow shot will increase damage for all tethered enemies, that's why it's lower.

The Titan one you have to melee, which is very dangerous when doing against a boss. Shadowshot also grabs many enemies and slows them down, and can prevent them from using special abilities. Melting point literally just damages and reduces armor.

For something like Golgoroth, melting point works very well. Shadowshot trumps it against most bosses however. The ability to stay away from the boss and immediately get back into the fight work very much in shadowshot's favor. Shadowshot is also very good for bosses that have ads around them, like Golgoroth when the taken show up or the Darkblade.

You can spread damage to multiple targets with shadow shot. Melting point is a single target.

3 RepliesWith Melting point you do have to run right up to the boss and risk dying. Shadowshot can be activated from a safe distance. I don't agree with the big gap though, I'd bump it up from 35% to 45%.
