I didn't get a refund - I cancelled the pre order. In these parts of the world pre orders are only charged when the game downloads - usually 1-2 days before release. I didn't call support, I logged onto my account on the psn website and cancelled. No fees and no loss of money.

Well if you ordered it through your console marketplace, then you are in the incredibly small minority to which is isn't relevant. :/
