No Knight Strat - Oryx HM Issue
People are going to hate me for bringing this up, and I doubt that Bungie doesn't know. I'm already sick of this cheese for the Oryx fight existing. I was one of the very few people that refused to cheese the Crota Raid back in Dark Below. I felt it took away from the games essence and was obviously an exploit that was ruining my gaming experience. Today I was attempting to get a spot in an Oryx CP, as my previous raid group would not even attempt the Oryx fight without using what they called the 'No Knight Strat'. So I looked into this strat on YouTube and its an obvious cheese method, for a very straightforward fight. I have no idea if there are more people out there that agree with this, but having people tell me that I must be a certain light level to join their raid is one thing, but to tell me that I have to cheese it is Dark Below all over again, and I will not have it. Just thought I would have a little rant, as this is really starting to tarnish my once again growing appreciation for this franchise.

Its not a cheese its an alternated strategy to make it so the knights don't spawn. And dude the crota cheese was up for a week at most before Bungie shut it down

2 RepliesI have the raid using both strategies atleast 3x each.. Doing it the normal way one spends so much ammo. Doing it the no knight strat saves you so much ammo and synthesis

Oracles in VoG, wipping and snipping from top.... VoG sniping from top for Templar VoG right side strat for templar Crota, hunters going invis Titans putting up a bubble to distract knights so you dont have to kill them Crota, not killing the knights so that you dont have to kill the wizard that spawnz

It sounds crazy...but a ninja already commended the original team on this very forum site for figuring it out. It isn't a cheese, it's something somebody figured out and made work Deal with it, you don't have to do it.

it is a strategy for god's sake man. the people that came up with it, are geniouses (sry if written wrong) it is by no means a fuxking cheese. you still need coordination to do it right. granted the normal way is harder to do, but by no meaning it is a cheese. pulling the cable in crota was a cheese. pushing atheon down was a cheese. pushing templar down was a cheese. this is a legit strategy that needs coordination and teamwork and bungie employer acknowledged it.

It's easier just to kill them on the platforms.

Pulling a lan cable is a cheese, pushing the Atheon off the edge is a cheese, no knight is a strat the same way that wipe and snipe is a strat for oracles and Templar. If you don't like the strat, start your own raid group, it's that simple.

So how come everybody seems to think they are two different things, cheesing was pushing Atheon off the edge which is cheating, but waiting just a little bit longer so a knight just doesn't spawn I don't see how that's on the caliber of cheating much less pushing Atheon off the ledge

I found it easier to just kill the ogres after trying the "cheese" strat. Still can't get the kill though. :(

It's not a cheese, you simply don't worry about one raid mechanic as it still works how it's meant to. Knights still come out, just not in time. It's like the one orb strat, 6 orbs, only on gets used. These aren't cheesing anything, they are simply using a stratergy that works. Unless I'm mistaken of course and there is a bungie rule book that states what can and can't be done? If it was wrong then bungie would've fixed golgoroth for hard, they didn't so it's not wrong & neither is the no knight strat.

5 RepliesOk... so if you are referring to the Crota cheese where the fireteam lead would disconnect so that Crota was perma-knee... then yes that was a cheese and removed all challenge from the fight. However if you are referring to the center platform strategy, then that was not a cheese. It was just the best way to complete the fight without having to deal with knights and wizards. Similarly, the new Oryx stratagy is not a cheese. It is a legitimate method to complete the fight without having to deal with the mobs or Knights. Sometimes the best way to win a fight, is not to fight at all.
