I originally purchased Destiny (preordered) for the PS3. Shortly after the game came out, my son got an Xbox360. We now have this game for both consoles.
The PS3 died about a year ago, but I have gotten a new one and want to install Destiny on it. When I tried it said it needed to download an 8 gig update. This took about 4 tries the first time, but finally downloaded ok. Now, when it tried to install (Installing Destiny - transferring Game Content) it hangs at 97% 5.78/5.96 GB In Progress. It will stay there few a few minutes, then restart at 0. I left the console on 2 nights trying to get it to install, but still no luck.
I have tried...
1. Removed anything I can find that pertains to Destiny in 'Game Data' and 'Saved Game Data' on the PS3. Doing this forced the PS3 to download the 8 gig update again (worked OK the second time).
2. Cleaned the disk. Not sure this has anything to do with it, but I found this online.
3. Disabled PS3 screen saver. Not sure this has anything to do with it, but I found this online.
4. Had the PS3 download the update using an ethernet cable instead of the wireless router the second time. Not sure this would have any effect since I get good transfer speed watching NetFlix on a box right next to the PS3 (I have good signal strength). I'm not sure how long the download took or how may times it may have restarted, I went to bed when it started.
Every time it tries (with both downloaded files) the PS3 stops at the same place - 97%. I have tried to do this at least 3 times, and left the console on until it shut off on it's own. I have no idea how long that was, but I know I saw it restart the copy process at least 3 times each time I tried (at least 9 times total).
I have the game on Xbox360, and have purchased both expansion packs when they came out for my son. Now I want to play on the my PS3 but I'm not able to because it will not update. I can't even play the version on the disk because it want's to update the game! What do I need to do? Right now I can't do anything with this game on the PS3.

2 RepliesEdited by GTP_Addict: 11/1/2015 12:17:02 AMWhen trying to install the downloaded patch, I got an error code wasp. This said the file was corrupt, so last night I did it all again (for the third time). Deleted all destiny data from the PS3, downloaded the 8+ gig file again using an Ethernet cable (no wifi), and let it try to install again last night before I went to bed (about 7 hours ago). When I got up this morning, it was at 80 something percent, after several minutes it got to 97 percent, paused, and restarted the "transferring data" thing all over again with no error code. I have no idea how many times it tried last night, but I would guess (by how long it takes to get from 0 to 97 percent) it was at least 10. This is Destiny's help support forum, right? I couldn't find any contact or support information other than what directed me here.

Last night (Thursday) I reset the PS3 - I did a quick format using the PS3 utility in settings that said it would restore the PS3 to original condition (wipes everything from the HDD). I made a new user name, entered my network information, signed in to the playstation store and tried it all again. Same thing happened. The file downloaded ok, but when installing it stops at 97% then starts over again at 0%. After doing this a few times I get the WASP error.

5 RepliesHello GTP_Addict, Error Code Wasp is a general connectivity error when you are having issues downloading and installing content for Destiny. Given that you have already tried hard wiring your console into your network, I would recommend power cycling your network devices to ensure that they are running smoothly. Additionally, given that you are downloading the entirety of Destiny content at once, you may be experiencing issues with your network hardware over heating. This can cause your modem/router to restart at repeat thresholds, which will interrupt your download progress. If possible, I recommend limiting your network usage until you know that your Destiny install has concluded.
