Rasputin on the Dreadnaught?

I was curious as to what the large metallic object in Oryx's throne room during the Regicide mission was, so I took to the Internet. A lot of articles have been released lately discussing destiny's lost story and the way the game was changed last minute. In the original story the Dreadnaught was where we would rescue a kidnapped rasputin of some sort. That being the case, that large metal object would make perfect sense, however, that story was scrapped, they sat on the release of the Dreadnaught for a year, why is it still in there? I think it was an aesthetic choice which made sense for a final fight for rasputin, and somewhere along the line the design team just didn't get the memo to remove it. However I'm sure some of you can come up with even better ideas. So how about it, anyone else have a theory on what that thing may be?

  • The alleged "original story" had Rasputin inside an Exo body, so this wouldn't make sense. I'm not even sure what object you're referring to, but I would venture a guess that it's either purely an art object, or a piece of debris from the Awoken fleet.

    • It's a large ball of spin metal that oryx is using to craft spinfoil hats.
That story also said that rasputin was inside an exo body
