I want to hear a VALID reason that the no knight method is a cheese
Knights still kill you, ogers still shoot at you, you do no extra damage and you gain no true tactical advantage other than youre delaying the ogers death to delay the knights
Being a veteran of version 1.0 of both vog and crotas end, its not a cheese, everyone still participates in the mechanic
1 warlock could kill atheon
1 oerskn could quit and crota would not stand back up
They gained an insurmountable tactical advabtage and made it not fair
So thus far, all I hear are whiners that think they are better for doing it normal mode plus knights because they struggled and think the other way is easier?
They both fall hand in hand in my opinion seeing as how I run both
Edit: I do see alot of people agree its just a smart strat
A real cheese leaves the boss vulnerable
I could see bungie force spawning the adds instead of on ogre death

No Knight method is awful... Especially when you can just run a titan bubble float in middle and melt ogres in a spot that is controlled... Knights also go down in 2 hits... You add so much more potential deaths trying to Dodge ogres as relic (or adds), whereas you can kill your ogre, then Knight, then stagger oryx then kill all adds, then get bomb with nothing shooting you very easily.

2 RepliesEdited by Shalzzamar: 10/28/2015 7:20:48 AM"Cheese" is just another term for alternate strategy. I attempted this strat with a competent fireteam and found it to be more hectic than doing it the "legit" way. The ogres run all over the place. You can't do a countdown to detonate simultaneously because a knight will steal your blight, so someone usually dies on their way back to the aura. Without a Defender Titan, you are simply hoping Oryx doesn't blast you when you are on top of the central platforms. The strat works. But as someone else stated, the flow of the fight seens more based on luck than skill. EDIT: Completed Oryx using a refined version of the way we were doing it. Still need the Titan though.

It's still rough to pull off tho. Ogres can kill a 312 guardian from platform to jumping to the top. That's dying very fast. Ship still kills and vessel still can jack you- all ogres can shoot at the relic carrier, all ogres can shoot at the guys atop platforms and easily kill anyone. No revive-hardly say it's cheesing. Is it cheesing the warpriest by never going to the top left platform? Is it cheesing golgoroth only using one bubble? Is it cheesing the witches if a junk relic runner jumps off the edge in the start because he doesn't want it? ( normal of course ) The mad people are more than likely the jealous people who haven't beat it yet. Failure leads to jealously, excuses, and false justifications to make themselves feel better.

Cheese inside of me nooooo

Mabey its not a chees but call it tactic two, tactic one. Normal is IMO easyer. But he what ever works and get the job done.
-
1 ReplyCan we call it bacon instead? I'm lactose tolerant
-
5 RepliesIt's not >Don't kill Knights in CE to avoid Wizard spawns >Don't kill Ogres in KF to avoid Knight spawns I don't see any difference other than it's different enemies in different settings
-
It's not a cheese, it's a strategy.

I don't understand why everyone thinks there is only one way to do something. It was just a couple of weeks ago Bungie posted a guys video that saved all 16 blight's until the end. They completely skipped the part of the bombs and running circles by doing it this way. Is this a method of cheating?? Obviously Bungie didn't think so. I think it's nice to see different types of strategies, and having the freedom to be creative and create new strategies is the best part of the game. I mean, was I cheating on Mario Bros. When I jumped up to the top of the bricks and ran over to a different drain pipe skipping multiple levels?? Just enjoy the game, no matter the strategy you use. If you do not like this way do it your way. No one is screaming that you are doing it out of order by killing the ogre's first, and I haven't seen an official way to defeat oryx from Bungie. Have you thought that we may have been doing it backwards the whole time?
-
Cause it makes you cheese smile
-
9 RepliesIt's cheesy taking the easy way out or cheating or bypassing mechanics
-
1 ReplyBecause elitist are doing more work their way and they hate the fact that they are working harder and not smarter so they will go complain to bungie who with patch this so we have to do it their way, same thing will happen to golgoroth and the 1 orb method.

I wouldn't call it cheese. To me it's the same as leaving the Knights alive in Crota so wizards don't spawn. And in some cases is more hazardous. I.e risking your runner and the possibility of the Knights killing people detonating blights.
-
It definitely isn't a cheese
-
Just because u are skipping mechanics. I think the normal way is accually easier with a good team. If u have 1 weak person it becomes evident very quickly. With the knight strat there is a element of luck involved as well with the ogre. Unless u have warlocks that can res just in case or hunters to go inviz to get to the far bombs

doesn't really matter what you want to call it, but don't call it a smart method. Its not something that was smart, that is like saying sitting on top of the mountain in the archon priest strike is a smart strategy.... that just what you tell yourselves so you don't feel like you're cheesing/cheating. Again, doesn't matter what you call it, the argument over whether it is or isn't a cheese will not be ended by any singular statement. However, what we can say, is that if you can't do it the normal way with killing the ogres and knights without hiding on top of the sisters platforms than you're probably not every good at the game. Ill agree to that

3 RepliesMy group tried the "cheese" method for hours. We switch to the normal way and beat it a hour later.
-
1 ReplyNot sure why people think this is a cheese. To me, it is the same as leaving the boomer Knights flanking Crota alive so that the Wizards don't spawn. That isn't a cheese. It's a good strategy.
-
its a very nice strategy that all u haters cant do so u call it a cheese.... suck it
-
1 ReplyIt's not a cheese, every mechanic is still in place. It's just how some people decide t deal with this mechanics. Coming from a guy who did it to beat Oryx the other knight. Oh yeah, I also use the 1 orb strategy in Golgoroth, so I double cheese the raid. Screw me, right?
-
Cause they didn't think of it first.
-
2 RepliesI was excited I thought this post was going into the history of the term cheesing... Moving on
-
1 ReplyEdited by gsmlima: 10/26/2015 12:14:03 PMIts not a cheese, bungie employee already said: "nice STRATEGY, well done". People are to damn idiot to think strategies outside the box.
-
Nothing makes it a cheese, it's just people new to these kind of RPG elements dont know the dif between cheese and strategy
-
Cheese = exploiting a glitch in the game to make it easier I.e. Leaving on crota when he kneels to keep him down or pushing Atheon off the cliff. No knights is a tactic that makes the fight easier.
