Heroic: Damn, I haven't watched the Spartan OP's cutscenes in a while. I'll throw out a name, Glassman? Or was it another? Legendary: do you want the The Flood version, or the Combat Evolved version?

The heroic is correct, and the game version, please.

The Pllar of Autumn as just escaped the destruction of the planet Reach, carrying onboard a Spartan II super soldier, Master Chief Petty Officer John-117. The Autumn's perusers, an alien alliance know as The Covenant, followed the ship as it escaped. The PoA accidentally discovered in it's random jump, an ancient alien ring-like structure. The Autumn is then boarded by covenant forced and John must repel them the best he can. The Autumn suffers critical damage and must preform an emergency landing on the ring structure. John escapes in a lifeboat and also crash lands on the ring. He survives and proceeds to search for surviving marines and later on the captain of the PoA, Jacob Keys. Once Keys is rescued, the survivors must search for a map room that will lead them to the control room of the now discovered super weapon, "Halo," the ring-like structure. They locate the map room and then mount an assault to secure the control room from covenant forces. Once successful, John's a.i, Cortana, learns that Keys has made a mistake and John must go to save him. Little did they know that the installation contained an ancient alien parasite know as the Flood. The covenant accidentally released the Flood and now John must stop the spread of the infection. John then meets 343 guilty spark, caretaker of Halo. He aids him in suppressing the recent outbreak, but his intentions are not all clear. Spark then befriends John into helping him activate Halo, the weapon that's will wipe out all sentient life within 25,000 light years. Taking this stab in the back, John and Cortana must now destroy Halo before Spark can activate the ring. To do so, they have to retrieve captain Keys' neural implants in order to detonate the PoA's fusion reactors. Surprise, Keys has been assimilated into the Flood, but this doesn't slow John. He then proceeds to the crashed Autumn and fights his way in, only to be blocked again by Guilty Spark. John then must manually detonate the reactors himself and mount an escape. There is one Longsword fighter left in dock aboard the PoA. John then uses this to escape, just as the engines go critical. He is then left drifting in space until further events (Halo: First Strike).
