Does bungie not realize that at the moment pulse rifles have some of the highest stability, highest range and fastest ttk out of any weapon?
I just want to point at everything wrong with pulse rifles and maybe a way to balance everything.
1. They have very little damage drop off so they are effective at long ranges being able to compete with scouts at all but the longest of ranges which often not a scenario people are put into as most maps are still small and cqc maps.
2. With nirwens mercy being sold recently many players have access to a great Pvp pulse rifle with max stability. For those of you who dont know this thing fires like a laser beam. This makes pulses very easy to use as little to no adjustments need to be made to compensate for recoil.
3. Pulse Rifles also have one of the fastest ttk of any primary being able to two burst other guardians with only a rate of fire slightly slower than hand cannons. This ability to kill things in two shots is unparalleled in the current meta and rivals thorn pre nerf.
As it stands something needs to be done to restore balance. They kill faster than all weapons at a longer range than most weapons and are the easiest primary to use.Just because I think it's funny if you actually read the post put a smiley face at the end of your comment
To balance this Pulses could take a rate of fire nerf across the board to make it so missed shots actually hurt you a lot more. Also other weapons such as hand cannons and autos should receive a slight stability and range buff to allow them to compete with pulses at mid range so pulse rifles do not dominate all ranges. Scouts could receive a rate of fire buff and a stability buff make them more viable at all ranges and to help off set these changes.

2 RepliesWhen it gets nerfed (and it will) something will take its place as "op". Autos then hand cannons and shottys, now pulse. All tinkering does is raise something else to that level as the meta adapts.

1 ReplyYou know, they give you people what you complain for, then you complain that you got it. I read all kinds of forum posts complaining that pulse rifles were to weak in year one, and they were right. Now pulse rifles feel perfect. You clearly have no understanding of the operation of a gun. They are a burst fire weapon, and therefore the recoil is only during the firing phase, where as an auto rifle is going to continue to recoil as long as the trigger is held. That being said, read the updates about changes to weapons before complaining. Auto rifles got a nerf to range, to keep them in line with their design as a close quarters weapon. Pulse rifles are meant as a mid range weapon, and therefore lose efficiency at max scout rifle range and lose efficiency in close quarters. Learn to play with the weapon instead of complain about them. If they're so op, why don't you use them?

Let's nerf everything! Make everything including supers have the same damage! Make the game completely unplayable! Cos only then will the nerfcallers be truly happy. Then they can all p!ss off to the next big game and ruin that too.

4 RepliesYour most used gun is a handcannon by 15k kills. So don't even deny that you used handcannons pre-ttk and they are [i]way[/i] more op than pulses currently are. Atleast with pulses we have 4/5 different viable weapons instead of thorn/tlw. And any decent scout user can out kill a pulse rifle at range. Pulses are good in there range, but handcannons and autos are so underpowered it makes pulses seem better. All we need is a slight buff to hc range and damage on ars

3 RepliesNo, they need to bring hand cannons and autos up. Pulse rifles do exactly what they're suppose to do. If I get caught close range with them I get demolished. But no matter how much adjustments are made, there will always be a top dog. If you think pulse rifles are too strong, use a pulse rifle. Always need to adjust to the meta. Everyone last year used vex/suros, and then after adjustments everyone used last word/thorn and another adjustment it's all pulse. Happens in every game. Thats why I hold onto all guns. Never know what will be the best the next patch.
