So, the new Hard Raid? Missed opportunity!

I'm fairly sure that in the run up to TTK that in interviews with Luke Smith he was questioned about the hard RAID and how it differed. I'm paraphrasing here but terms like "new routes" "new surprising mechanics" were used to differentiate it from the normal RAID, essentially it was tantamount to "new experience". So, when I dipped in to the RAID last night you can imagine how disappointed I was to discover the apparent lack of thought that had been given to make it more interesting, involving, immersive and challenging. There is no limit to the number of things that could and perhaps should have featured to make it not just a simple rehash of what we'd already been given (and yes I understand the HM was created first). Some sort or random POE elements, different sequences to tomb ships, different sequence to wall jump section, more variety of tasks (mines, warsat, anything) would have been more than welcome to gloss over the fact they basically removed a platform for ship, added some tougher enemies (probably by changing 1 line of text in a database) and to their credit at least adding a couple of slight touches with unstable light. Maybe my expectations were too high following the marketing BS I swallowed, but with a basic LFG group of 302-305 I shouldn't be getting to Oryx on the first night with so little effort, that makes me now question the longevity. People used to raid on repeat for exotics, now we have ToC if that'd my motivation I'm better killing Draksis or Gatelord for a half hour. Literally the only point to it all is to is now 320 raid gear, 2 months from now? :-/ After the Kotaku findings of cut content, it all just smacks of laziness "what's the minimum we can offer for the price we charge?" I really hope with Destiny 2 they learn from this stuff.

  • Man I hear every word..the fact that we all can make it to oryx on hard with such low light lvls is yawn boring. I'd rather play pokemon for a challenge. But my question is how can destiny 2 be in the making if destiny it's self isn't made finished...same what a scheme...what's in destiny 2? Same enemy's with higher light lvls but different colors with fancy names lol, what else? dregs that ride shanks? I mean how can destiny game play be as boring as the story? I wake up and play destiny fresh in the morning only to find my self back in bed from some type of drozey hypnosis..Man its boring...master chief come save me and destroy that traveler along w the speaker
