I didn't think I would've cared that weapon parts were nerfed because I had around 800-1000 on each character but after the update I have found myself low on them. I couldn't understand why but I realized that infusing takes 10 weapon parts each time. Then take the gun that you're putting into the other gun. You could've leveled it all the way up and that took around 15 weapon parts. Then there's 3-5 weapon parts you're missing from dismantling them. That's 30 weapon parts you lose potentially every time you infuse a weapon. I imagine everyone else is infusing weapons and armor a lot just like me since dlc dropped. I would rather this game not force me to keep grinding for materials.
If I am going to grind for something it should be an exotic quest line or maybe grimoire but for weapon parts? No thank you. Please bump if you agree with me and want infusing to not require weapon parts.
Edit: or at least decrease it to 5 or something please. QQ

Can't raise the light level of my gear because upgrading the nodes takes weapon parts, then infusing it up to a non-useless light level takes parts and I lose the parts I could've had in the gun?? The weapon part mechanics of this game are broken. FIX IT

I've been weapon part poor since HoW reforging, now its even more devastating. There isn't even a real way to grind for weapon parts unless you going glimmer and buy the vanguard greens for 1500 glimmer each, and those only break down to one stinking weapon part. 1500 glimmer for one weapon part is a terrible deal. Wish they would do something like 1 mote for 5 or 10 weapon parts. Or at least be able to buy them with glimmer for a reasonable price.

Orrrrrr... We could just have the devs reverse the weapon parts patch
I'm in the same situation too. Had 5600+ weapon parts and now I'm only at about 800 all 3 characters together

Bump!

1 ReplyStraight up, I have been low on parts since HoW and now I literally cant upgrade anything as of late. Its really annoying when you grind 10 strikes out and get absolutely nothing in return.
-
1 ReplyThe only reason some people are low on weapon parts is because they introduced reforging with HoW. Everybody went crazy trying to roll the most op perks on weapons for trials.

5 RepliesThe game is already easy enough . I just cashed in 3000 weapon parts to my faction because I had so many. With the amount of drops there are now all you have to do is play the game and you will get more than enough

Bump! Just do away with weapon parts!!
-
3 RepliesI like doing things like court of oryx to get loads of weapon engrams for dismantling and instead getting 7 million class item engrams.
-
3 RepliesHAHA Everyone just wants the game to be so damn easy "Oh i only want weapons and armor that are a higher light level to drop" "Meh how come Xur hasnt sold Zhalo Yet" "Wah Give me more weapon parts even though they are already abundant"
-
1 ReplyJust put in a way to buy them with marks/glimmer or whatever. I find that all I do anymore is grind strikes for weapon parts.
-
Idiot.....Its why they did it.To slow people down from infusing weapons...making our guns better.Nnnaaaahhhh, they want us to grind,to hate them...to want to do anything to you nd the grind. And then.Boom!!!!!!! Tess Everes and her BS trading company start micro selling everything we want....Because then we will do anything....😐😐😐

Here's some stats... I ran 11 Heroic Strikes... took 3 hours... I got a total of 29 weapon parts. With that, I could upgrade one 280 legendary, and infuse it once. Sucks.
-
Honestly, the best fix for infusing would be for the system to take into account what weapon is being infused. For example, an exotic fused into another exotic wouldn't require the exotic shard and less weapon parts and almost no parts if fully leveled.

Petition for a larger vault so i can horde more crap gear for infusing =/
