In all seriousness, a Scooby Doo survival horror would be awesome.

Yeah, if you don't mind the childhood being completely ripped out of your soul.
Could you watch Scooby die?
• He doesn't die, he just goes mad from fear. Think Amnesia mixed with Alien: Isolation. You wander around the setting, avoiding the monster and solving puzzles and looking for clues as to the identity of said monster,. If the monster finds you, you have to escape, but the longer it chases you, the more you SAN points go down. You consume Scooby Snacks to replenish SAN. Once all the clues are collected, you collect components for a trap, and lure the monster into the trap at the risk of your own SAN. Then you get a brief summation. Next stage, rinse, repeat.

In all honesty, that would actually be a game I would play. Although, seeing Scooby Doo in this sort of environment would definitely throw me off.

  • You could even have each member of the gang have diiferent attributes, like Daphne having high SAN but is more easily detected, Scooby regaining more SAN from Scooby Snack, Shaggy running faster, etc.

I can't see Fred contributing much to the team. All he does is split everyone up into dysfunctional teams.

  • He could have some kind of trap bonus, like having to find less parts or having some greatly reduced SAN loss when the trap is constructed.

I could see that as a bonus for him, but then again, Velma designs the traps. What would her bonus be?

  • Well, if I remember correctly she was usually the one who manages to get to the bottom of the mystery as well, so we could give her some sort clue-based alternative. If all else fails maybe we could give her one of the trap bonuses and find a new bonus for Fred (maybe make it so he can send another member of the gang to essentially scout areas and act as a decoy in the form of him splitting the gang?). Or heck, we could just it so she can just take off her glasses to make it so she has to bump into the monster to start the chase, at the cost of not being able to really see a damn thing.

The decoy idea sounds great, but also pretty selfish and maniacal on Fred's part. It adds an excuse to the whole gang constantly splitting up, but it just makes Fred look like a monster himself, throwing his friend out there.

One could always give him some SAN punishments if the use of it ends up being costly for the member of the gang he sends out, or something.
