Your Nightfall reward was the Bond.
You won't get a Legendary and large number of strange coins, the second item is just a random small bonus.

The point being is that bungie clearly stated that their new system is suppose to look at what you have and give you what you need. Nightfall or Raid whatever is not doing this as it is clearly stated that it should. The struggle to get better gear is real and it is all falling on a grossly incompetent RNG system that rewards some and screws many many others. This is a problem that people should definitely be upset about, because unlike year 1, the relevancy of the year 2 gear is extremely important. Sure some of you get lucky and get what you need, but there are many others out there putting many many hours into this game, only to end up with inferior loot that does not help them progress in this game. It has nothing to do with someone being better at the game than another person. The system is flawed, it is broke and does not work as they claimed so positively it would, it is not improved and they really have no clue how to make it better, and I'd just appreciate it if Bungie would just admit that they have no real control over their own creation or even an intelligent understanding of how any of it actually works... In a world of deceptive politicians it would just be a breathe of fresh air to hear them admit it...

You're like the 5th person I've ran into who says this and like the other 4 I bet you cannot provide me with a link. I'll tell you what i told them, just because your friends friend tell you something doesn't make it true. If you happen to be another one of those people who mistook legacy engrams for this "smart" loot, try reading a little better please.

I know for a fact it was either Smith or Noseworthy who stated this, pretty sure it was Smith. I watched this be stated, I didn't pull this out of thin air, relay some crap I read on forums or hear this from a friend via a non-informative rumor. Yes it was Smith, I remember clearly he was making a crack about how after VoG came out people where grinding for months for the boots and a throw back to the Forever 29 joke. During that is when he stated the new loot system in TTK was going to be taking a more in depth look at what you currently have and try to drop items that you need. Thusly insinuating you would not be spending months grinding for that piece of loot you need to progress your character. It was a live interview and it is still on you tube.

You gotta a link bro? I remember them saying this with regards to year one stuff like the legacy engrams, but not for year two stuff. I'd love to see it for myself.

Oh awesome, so there should be patch notes in regards to this? I mean they have something written for the change in RNG with legacy engrams, oh wait.. There's nothing written? So you just assumed they added this with out actually looking? Bungie have said a lot of things and a lot players have either misheard or misinterpreted things as well. Right now the only thing that "looks" through and sees what items you don't have is [b]legacy[/b] engrams. I suggest you do a little more research before blindly making statements.

Uhmm it's called listening to the creators of the game and expecting them to do what they say they are going to do. Last time I checked there wasn't "patch" notes for the entire expansion or sequel known as The Taken King, I'm sorry I wasn't aware this thing we all paid money for was only considered a patch, but you seem to know better than I do so from now on we should all know that The Taken King is considered a patch, thank you for clarifying that, phew I feel better now, thank you man!!!

Smith added that the inner workings of the game's investment and reward systems will remain a secret, but calling it "smart loot" isn't the best way to describe how it works. "I will probably never detail investment and reward systems, but 'smart loot' isn't the right term (I think this is the first time I've even said it, and it shouldn't have ever been used because it sets a bunch of expectations in ways the game simply isn't going to meet) and it isn't a catch-all for every piece of gear that drops," he said. "As for your anecdotal evidence re: Raid Drops. Yep, some people got lucky some people didn't. What I will say is, if you got a helmet in the first or second week, luck was truly on your side. Exotic Engrams don't have a lot they can roll from (e.g. Hunter chests), so you're going to naturally see more duplicates. Most of the new weapons are found through quests, not through Exotics or Three of Coin Engrams."

I've helped people with genuine problems and question, if another player wants to carry on like a knob when someone try's to help well they will be treated how they treat others, simple as that.

No I know they do bro but you can say with 100% certainty that you as a person are completely fine with the creators of a video game telling you one thing, then taking your money and not delivering on what they publicly stated? I mean come on that's just ridiculous, that's not acceptable in any other video game so why here? I love this game but if you are going to publicly state something you have to back it up.

I'm not here to argue about people's opinions on how they want the game to be, I will however let someone know if what they claim or what ever is wrong because rumours or false information spread like a virus and it turns the forums into absolute chaos, I've seen people defend an absolute false rumour to death and I just don't understand why.

Nope, it was a terrible reward according to you, attack/def really means nothing when we have infusion, technically every thing can be 310 if we want it to be but that doesn't mean everything at 310 is a valuable item.

Wow, what a great response. Here you go: This game is designed to keep you coming back. YOu are always chasing something. IF they handed you everything good in the first month of a new expansion, no one would play anymore, and everyone would complain about the lack of content/ how boring the game is. THe game is designed to keep casual players busy till the next expansion. Take it or leave it.

They are simply copping out of adding more content to keep us playing, by having us chase items and grind the same things over and over, instead of finding new things again and again. It would be quite simple to update VoG and Crota Raids and POE, they could reskin old items and add a bling or two and update them to year 2, change the difficulty and bam we have 4 different activities. They could have you redo old quest lines on higher difficulty with different challenges, or add speed run challenges with worthy rewards or solo challenges. They could create new quests out of old quests by adding content that makes it necessary to visit old locations, or even add new areas on existing planets. After all everyone of the maps in this game were bought and just skinned over by bungie, so it cannot be that expensive to do so. They have 100 million budget, not to mention the amount they have made since release and merchandise. Yes I know making a game is expensive, but look at other games with a quarter of that budget and the amount of content they provide. It's just a shame man, I absolutely love this game. The concept of this game is everything I have ever wanted in a MMO game and I have made some insanely amazing friends here. This game has so much potential and it could easily be corrected and make so many people happy by doing so, yet it isn't happening.

Eh I got two sub 300 legendary items this week, oh well it happens. Luckily it wasn't too much of a struggle.
