I may have to hit up a friend and have a race aha :) but okay i get what your saying now, i thought you were saying its a bad jump. In that case though i completely agree, it is a tad boring compared to shadestep etc. I would think a barrel roll(obvously only forwards) would work, it fits the kinda role, it would put you into a crouched position maybe? Be usefull for diving into cover.
