In this post I simply wanted to collect some data as to which Guardians believe that the Sunbreaker sub-class should be nerfed.
Please vote according to your primary character and your opinion on Sunbreakers.

I want to fly like Thor and travel to Yodenheim. I was worthy enough to wield the hammer, I must now become the King of Asgard! Thoughts on Sunbreaker: The super isn't OP. It's strong, but the entire subclass is geared towards the super and little else. Half of the perks people complain about either suck or cannot be used in tandem. For example, "HoS has over shield and healing!" Well, turns out you either pick one or the other because they're in the same perk tree. Subsequently, the over shield is only active if you're a potato in a sunspot. "But the hammers are tracking and have a huge blast radius!" Again, you have to pick one or the other. The tracking is largely useless in PvP, so people go with Explosive Pyre. EP makes enemies you kill with your hammer explode. "They're the fastest class!" Because of an exploit. Fix the exploit; don't hamstring the class. "They have too many hammers!" And most of those hammers miss quite stupendously. Nor is it an automatic kill; the hammer has to travel and arcs. "But I shot him in the head with a sniper!" SHOOT HIM AGAIN, HE HAS A SLIVER OF HEALTH LEFT. It's not that hard to swap out your primary quickly and pop him. "My golden gun dint werk!" Shoot him again. "But I shouldn't have to!" And therein we have the issue of people thinking Sunbreaker is legitimately OP. Titans had to muck through Year 1 with nothing great in the way of PvP. We have T-Rex melees, awful grenades except for maybe 2, no blink, and terrible supers. Fist of Panic was a counter-super to supers like Bladedancer or nova bomb (assuming you were lucky). Now, notice how Warlocks aren't quite in arms about how "OP" Sunbreaker is while Hunters are. That's because Warlocks often saved supers to counter other supers too. In this respect, Titans and Warlocks haves shared the same experiences. Hunters have almost never used their supers to this effect; they are used to just slaying. But now they're forced to have to use their supers to counter other supers, and they're freaking out about it because it's new to them. Additionally, few of them have played the Titan extensively because of its previous inferiority in PvP. Ere go, they have no experience with hammers except when they're on the receiving end. Cue salty feelings about Titans. The fact of the matter is, the Titans have finally become viable in PvP. This has upset the power hierarchy in Crucible. No longer are the Hunters supreme with Warlocks close behind, because the Titans can compete now. And of course, a lot of players can't handle it. They cry about HoS like it slaughters them 3 times per super use. The hammer shouldn't kill you more than once every time a Titan uses it, and this is the same with all supers. If it is, you need to git gud.

Now I've noticed here that the majority of people opposing the sun breaker nerf are Titans. You know why this is? Because they're power mad on they're overpowered super. And for those of you who say the super isn't op, let's compare it to a similar super, the hunters golden gun. In the crucible, golden gun kills instantly with a direct hit, and you get 3 shots (4 with the right exotic). Now that sounds like a pretty powerful super to me. Now let's look at the Hammer of Sol. The hammer kills instantly too, but it doesn't require a direct hit because it explodes on contact, and it even tracks enemies. Also you get 5 hammers (7 with the right upgrade). That's up to 4 more that the hunters gun. Now that alone makes it over powered. I haven't even mentioned the the insanely increased armor, the instant healing on kills, the solar flares the hammers can leave behind. With all of this put together, it's nearly impossible to kill them in the crucible. Now for those of you who say it's easy, maybe it is, if you're lucky enough to be a ways away from one and you get a few head shots on then, or if you sneak up behind one with a shotgun. But if you can't do that you're screwed, not to mention that if he kills someone while you're shooting him all of your progress is lost due to the health regain. Let's face it Titans, you know this super is extremely powerful, and needs to be fixed. So stop complaining that it's going to be nerfed, because it's going to happen. -and a quick note to those who say that the other new supers are just as powerful, you know they're not. Shadowshot definitely isn't since you get maybe one kill with the actual shot, and the rest rely on your own skill and your team mates. Stormtrance is powerful, but only at very close range, and since your mobility is limited you're easy to run from and a very easy target for snipers.

6 RepliesAnyone who plays a Titan at all without looking at facts will not want it nerfed because you activate your sunbreaker super and hit rt to get kills. Don't have to aim that much, they track your opponent stupidly. If you don't want sunbreaker nerfed I bet that you were someone that used final round/blink shotgun/or complained about other things being op. Seriously. You get 7 hammers, have too much armor, have tracking, have health regen on kills. All Titans just want to feel like they are the best when their super is just easy to use and takes no skill. Look at the facts. Sunbreaker needs nerfed

3 hammers like golden gun. Same armor as bladedancer and same duration as golden gun, stormtrance should work like bladedancer. For -blam!-s sake buff defender

4 RepliesHonestly sun breaker doesn't need a nerf, comparing the new supers, night stalker has side step and can easily avoid a hammer, warlocks stormcallers super has blink which can avoid hammers, and titan is built around there super, not around the abilities of the class

The only thing wrong is the amount of armor they have.. that's it... everything else is fine... gotta tweak that armor

1 ReplyI use all 3 classes and most subclasses. I do believe that it is op, but not why others think it is. I believe that the cauterize perk, or whichever one regenerates health, should be adjusted. You shouldnt regain health when you get a kill.

3 RepliesWow, let's get this straight from day one the Warlock and Hunter have always had super abilities to kill you from a distance via Nova bomb and gunslinger Golden Gun and now that the Titan has the hammer you little warlock and Hunter b****** are whining, stop whining and get better skills.

It only really needs a slight tweak. I'd say they shouldn't regen on a kill. Regen on other powers it's fine but with hammer maybe have it something like create more orbs per kill. I think that's all they really need

Titans don't care if they are overpowered. They just want the dominant super. Patch is obvious.

So if it takes no skill yo use and almost unkillable. How come I get shit down by my third hammer? I've been pulse rifled to many times to count. I've also killed plenty of sunbreakers as well. A smart hunter used gg on me then shot me with his pulse before I had time to react. If you play smart you can kill one easily.

Interesting retrospective on each classes take. I think a Warlocks care less because we have a super that one shots them from a distance.

I main both hunter and titan. I never saw a problem are they hard to stomp yes but i always thought a super should take down another super i think golden gun should be able to shoot a hammer titan

5 RepliesI think Titans are fine the way they are. What they should do is bump up the effectiveness of shadow shot. I hate that every time I shot a Titan, warlock or hunter with shadow directly that it does not cancel there super right away, especially with quiver. There is delay to were they could still hit you and kill you and get away. I'm not saying to make it a one hit kill but to instantly take there super away. If they fixed that then should help take care of the whole op hos issue.

5 RepliesI don't see the big issue everyone has with sun breakers. I see one on my hunter, tether them, bam no more hammer. I see one on my warlock, I jump around them in circles using storm trance. They're strong but dammit they're not un-kill able. Let the Titans have some fun their other supers aren't that fun

7 RepliesAs a warlock or Hunter, you should be able to kill a sunbreaker with a super.. Balance that crap out once and for all. Also sniper head shots shut down any other super. It's just balance that we need. Trials is definitely broken. Go against a team of 3 Titans. It's over.

4 RepliesReduce the damage in PvP or reduce the amount healed. Don't touch it for PVE, they really do need something other than bubbles.
