Before the 2.0 nerf: Thorn headshot + Arcbolt grenade = Dead (Unless you had the ram with max armor)
Last word body shot aiming down sights headshot + Firebolt grenade with after burn = Dead from Firebolt after burn (Same thing if you had the Ram you wouldn't die)
2.0 weapon tuning after patch:
Red Death one burst all head shots + Arc bolt = Dead
Red Death one burst all body shots + Firebolt grenade with the after burn = dead

Edited by xCatLikeThiefx: 11/20/2015 6:38:05 AMThe only reason it got nerfed is because lightning grenades were too op for storm callers so they just picked the next already in game thing and said "well we don't want the crucible to be rampant with arc bolt and we can't have storm callers choosing it over the storm grenade or it'll look bad" so they went with "f*** blade dancers" and made everything better and dumbed blade dancer down to trash. Arc bolt nerf, blink nerf [deserved], razors edge nerf (something that could only kill someone directly in front of them while sunbreaker a can cross map multi kill with one hammer) Honestly I'd be fine if they at least just gave arc bolt back because the other hunter grenades are trash. Who knows, maybe lucky raspberry will make a comeback and make it good again but requiring an exotic to do so is just weak.

5 RepliesDidn't fire bolts have more range than arcbolts? Still wondering why they only do 75 dmg
-
Consistently getting 3 damage post death, and it doesn't even do half when it's a meter away. Pointless
-
No its absolute dogshite atm! It cant even break a shield.

Edited by JHarv: 10/22/2015 6:11:04 PMThe biggest problem with the Arcbolt grenade was that it was coupled with Lucky Raspberryy and Thorn. One shot to the body with thorn and an Arcbolt hit was a kill. It was unavoidable. You could throw your grenade first, then clip the body once simoultaneous with the grenade damage for a near instant kill. I don't think the nerf was warranted because now, Thorn is dead, and Lucky Raspberryy is a Y1 exotic that nobody really cares about anymore. It's not a lethal Trials or Banner combination anymore. So not only were hand cannons crushed in the nerf, the Lucky Raspberryy was left behind AND Arcbolt got crushed. This doesn't make a lot of sense to me, especially with a lot of the one hit kill grenades that exist in the game today. Incendiary grenades are a 1hk with a precise toss (170 damage initially, then you burn out). Storm grenades are a 1hk if you don't move out of them. Arcbolt grenades don't even deplete a shield.

It looked way too cute today, it had to be addressed

Arc Bolt was OP especially with Lucky Rasberry. Firebolt were OP too but requires 2 perks to make it so. So imo by itself Arc Bolt> Firebolt
-
This is the thorn last word scenario. I rather have a chance to get a kill then die(thorn) than getting instantly slaughtered with no chance faster than ever(last word) Why Last Word was more op than thorn imo.

2 Repliesyea i am a hunter and when ever there was a fellow blade dancer on my team if we throw the arc nades at the same area it was either a kill or triple kill lol the arc range was crazy along with 110 damage which completely destroyed their shield
-
Honestly it would of been balance if Titans had a bolt grenade (well when I had full health and I got burned to death by the firebolt grenades I would get upset), I don't know if that would affect the lore

Yes it has chaining capabilities and a super wide range to begin with making it better than firebolt and its damage was instant rather than burn over time
-
Lucky raspberry did
-
Hm let's see, just throw in ANYWHERE within 20 yards of the target to get FULL EFFECT.. na definitely didn't need one, that sounds totally reasonable
-
It was just the lucky raspberry and trials combined that made them OP. They just needed to change lucky raspberry. But Bungie.
-
All the grenade damage was normalized, which makes sense.
-
All the bolt grenades got nerfed.
-
3 RepliesI think so. It did too much damage over too big a range. It was pretty annoying to instantly lose your shield and some health instantly
-
3 RepliesSomeone tried to tell me the other day how great Spike grenades are. I had to end the conversation at that because I couldn't take them seriously anymore.

2 RepliesEdited by Nebu the Bald: 10/22/2015 3:52:03 PMKilled an entire team with a Spike Grenade once. Don't underestimate them bruh.

3 RepliesWhen they nerfed arc bolts, they nerfed Firebolts too, you kno?

6 RepliesFirebolt grenades with burn needed damage reduction
-
5 RepliesThey definitely needed a damage reduction. I remember playing a Trials match against 3 Bladedancers all with the Lucky Raspberry. It was the inside spawn of The Burning Shrine and we couldn't even get off our spawn. We lost 5-0, at 8 wins.
