This thread is a response to another post claiming that Radiant skin is comparable to Hammer of Sol.
==================================
Sunsingers with Radiant Skin are not comparable to Sunbreakers.
Sunbreakers throw 1HKO hammers and heal on kill.
Sunsingers just throw grenades and get one (2 with claws) 1 hit kill melee. That's not even close to the same thing. Also, the armor bonus is NOT the same. I know because I have mained a warlock since launch and I can tell you even with max armor, a ram, AND a solar chest piece, you'll still get destroyed by a single sniper headshot.
The only way you could possibly survive a sniper headshot is IF you had flame shield active AND full health. Sunbreakers don't have to do anything special like that. They just automatically survive sniper headshots and golden gun. THEY ARE THE ONLY SUPER THAT CAN DO THIS.
Sunsingers used to be able to tank golden gun with the ram and guess what happened? Golden Gun got buffed AND the Ram got nerfed. Why? Because you are not supposed to be able to survive a GG shot under any circumstances. You only get 3 GG shots for a reason!
To put things in perspective for you, imagine if Sunsingers could run around the map like maniacs throwing 1 shot Firebolts that dealt massive AOE, healed on kill, and the ram had it's old armor bonus, and GG was never buffed. Do you have any idea how many people would be screaming nerf?
This excuse of "titans have had the worst super for a year" is total bs. Just because they never had a run around super doesn't mean they should just get god mode in year 2. Bladedancers used to be op as hell and guess what? THEY GOT NERFED. Their armor stat was WAY too high, so Bungie lowered it.
"But, but...titans are supposed to be the tank class!" Okay fine. They can be the tank class. But you know something about tank classes? They are supposed to specialize in soaking up damage and being slow as hell. You ever heard of rock type Pokémon? Amazing defense at the cost of speed, with decent attack.
But Sunbreakers completely break the tank rules. They have the best defense in the game, the highest mobility in the game (with titan skating), the best recovery ability in the game (ANY ability heals), long range lethality, AOE 1 shot capability, highest ammo capacity for a super, and longest DURATION of a super (27 seconds!)
So basically this "tank" super is stacked on attack, defense, speed, recovery, ammo capacity, and range. But it's "fair and balanced?" Um yeah no. As z Anonymous said, it is getting nerfed. It's only a matter of time.
I just gave several logical and factual reasons why the Sunbreaker class is unique apart from every other class. If you're going to respond, respond with facts and logic, not insults. Have a good day.

Titans arent tanks bruh, they never have been.

That is all

1 ReplyThat's the power packed taste of the sun.

Stop whining and I'm pretty sure a transcendent Stormcaller is the longest super

1 ReplyTo be fair. The SB special does last 27 seconds. BUT. That time drops a ton once you throw the hammers. (More than blade dancers, especially paired with Mask of the Third Man) The ONLY thing that needs to be nerfed on this class is the supers armor. THATS IT! I don't "main" anything. I play every class the same amount. So know I have no biased opinion. This is coming from someone who claimed the SB wasn't OP, armor wise, until I played with it myself. Every class has it's specifications. So I don't feel anything else, perk wise, should be messed with. Just a nerf in armor would be great. Which is ultimately going to destroy it in PvE. Not that many people run anything besides Defender anyway. Still. It's going to destroy it entirely. I personally wish supers would be taken out of crucible altogether. To make crucible more balanced, and so our subclasses wouldn't have been nerfed onto oblivion. That's just my opinion. Feel free to disagree.

1 ReplyEdited by Shatterday: 10/25/2015 2:43:18 AMFunny...just yesterday I headshot every sunbreaker I see....and as a sunslinger I heard a hammer pop so I hit my radiance ran in...took a hammer shotgunned him and his 2nd hammer killed me postmortem. All I read was your 1st line and stopped after that. My GG killed the sunbreaker in 1 shot as well.

8 RepliesSun breaker does not need a nerf. End of story.

Can't wait for the nerf
-
A tank (in real life can take damage and give it back.) they have a canon after all. They are also pretty quick in a straight line. Pretty much exactly like the Titan. Minus the jump. I don't understand where people get the idea tanks can't cause big damage. Just clarifying what I believe a tank is.

7 RepliesLol "in depth" completely bias...
-
1 ReplyTakes just as many snipes to kill as a sunsinger and not 100% but pretty sure you can shoot the hammers down as well
-
4 RepliesEdited by II Stargazer x: 10/23/2015 8:46:56 AMI main a Titan and can agree that it does require a nerf but not in the way people think, the speed of the hammers when thrown and proxy detonation of the hammers should be reduced, doing these 2 gives everyone the chance to evade them and reduces the accuracy at longer range Question, has anyone tried shooting a hammer down while its airborne?
-
Yeah i remember when FoH and Nova bomb could tank a gold gun shot, then they buffed it 10 damage.
-
Titans by no means have the highest mobility, they are the fasest in straight line. They are as mobile as a sumo wrestler. BTW the ram only got nerfed because its armor worked 100% of the time, no one cared that it could survive a GG in super (which i think all supers should be able to in my own humbe opinion).

SHUT UP MEG! FIND NEW TEARS TO BE SALTY OVER YOU WILL!
-
Completely agree! It's a shame that Sunsingers can only throw 3 (4 if you time it right) grenades once the super is active. Now Sunsingers are only good for rezzing.

8 RepliesNo links, no stats, only jargon. More like an "in-breadth" review, but no real depth. I personally think damage resistance needs to be dropped and that's it. When Her Benevolence only deals 188 to a Hammer of Sol Titan, but 417 to a Defender with Blessing, I have to question the logic. Hammer of Sol has health regen on kills, so why does it have damage resistance?
-
7 RepliesJust a note on your armor comment: The damage resistance applied in HoS is most certainly the EXACT same as the damage resistance applied in Radiance, 55% for both. If you want proof, go find some buddies and do some math. The DAMAGE you do is identical, however, Titans can achieve a higher armor stat than any other class, just like how warlocks and hunters achieve higher recovery and agility respectively, so while you do the same damage, the Titan has a higher level of health, however slim the difference.

2 RepliesEdited by Misfyre: 10/23/2015 2:09:55 AMhttp://www.bungie.net/en/Forum/Post/165356486/0/0 Completely unbiased analysis of the stats being copy-pasted from Destinytracker. If you want, you can go and verify that the numbers are the same. TLDR: Sunbreaker's kill potential and average kills per week, per Sunbreaker, is greater than that of Nightstalkers augmented with the Shadowshot Exploit as well as almost double that of Stormcallers. And people still say that it's balanced.
-
1 ReplyPeople always use skating as an excuse but its not the same as actually moving faster... I basically have to move in a straight line and have to move a certain distance every time. Its not at all like moving/ running faster or other abilities like triple jump or blink. Idk if you have noticed but its a lot harder to hit someone blinking around than it is to hit a titan moving in a straight line right at you.
-
The warlock argument with sunsinger and ram proves the whole point, titans are tanks and bungie is letting them be more of a tank then warlocks and hunters and people cry about it
-
As I was scrolling through the topics, I saw one that ended with "in depth anal..." Interesting place to cut off your title...

Bump for ~7% armor nerf to Sunbreakers mid-super!
-
14 RepliesEdited by Zackman71492: 10/22/2015 11:22:34 PMNERF MONGER. If you die by a particular ability or gun it doesnt mean it needs a nerf. you are just stupid and redundant in your approach and have no clue how to adjust your play style to gain an edge over your opponents. SUNSINGER can double mele a sunbreaker and kill him every time with flame shield thats why people are comparing them. Nova bomb, bolt caster, rockets, radiance, golden gun are just a few of many ways to kill them. Hunters get smoke+ grenade combo, evade, tracking behind walls yet you think sunbreaker is op because of its super. Should it not do any damage should you be able to run up to a sunbreaker mid super and 1 shotgun him to the face .Stop charging at supers with your primary/secondary hoping to win. just because you want hunter to be top dawg in crucible doesnt mean sunbreaker is op. The game is balanced look at the stats

In the words of an old year 1 warlock who made a terribly foolish statement: "It's only ten seconds of a super, deal with it."
