Who is older, The Hive or The Vex?
We all know that the hive are super old, but in the book of sorrows Crota rips open a portal in his throne world and the vex invade almost instantly and this is the first time the hive encounter the vex. This got me thinking. Did the vex know about the hive? If so how? And If the hive are billions of years old, and the vex are timeless; who would be older? Feel free to discuss this and post any cool theories any of you might have.

I imagine the vex are both eternally old and almost non existent when you factor in they're not bound to a linear timeline.

If the Vex can travel through time then they may not be created until the future, but still exist in out past

But praedith was trap in the vault (future) for eons even after the events of atheon, and he talk about the creatures that invade the vault (taken). I think the hive are older and oryx master plan was to take control of the vex, the best invection, machines created in the golden age, trying to find a way to prevent the colapse by running millions of simulations

I'd say by this point the vex are timeless. They've thrown themselves all over the place through time to the point that it would be impossible to find their origin. Or possibly in some weird time traveler twist they created themselves in a paradox. WHO knows.

Well seeing how Crota cut the fabric of space time allowing the vex to learn time travel and dimensional travel. I'd say it's a trick question now. Who came first the chicken or the egg.

Neither party is "older" than the other since the passage of time to both races is relatively trivial.
