Question about NM King's fall raid loot table and HM King's fall loot table

So today bungie made a post about recent game update including the HM King's Fall Raid. Some are confused on wether if doing NM before HM will kill the chances of getting double HM drops when only completing the HM raid. Here's a direct quote: "Players cannot earn new raid-specific loot from a raid more than once a week per mode. The normal and hard mode Raids have their own separate loot tables, so the two modes can be completed separately or can be combined. Completing normal mode does not lock out earning loot on the incomplete hard mode. However, if a player starts the Raid on hard mode and completes it, they will receive the loot rewards from both the normal and hard difficulty mode." IMO, the post contradicts itself. One way you can look at it is "NM and HM have its own separate loot table". So that would mean NM drops from NM and HM drops from HM. On the other hand it also states that the raid drops can be combined. "So the two modes can be completed separately or be combined". I don't know what to think tbh :/ Tldr: After reading the article, would you still do NM then HM or wait for HM on Friday for the possible double drops?

      • Here's how I read it. Do NM first get 300-310 stuff, then do HM and get 310-320 stuff. Do HM only and get 310-320 stuff + the 300-310 stuff. I have no idea if that is actually the case or not, I will do some testing on friday. Have one character do the normal mode first before going into hard mode, but on two other characters wait for HM. I agree the article is not well written and is not as clear as it could be. It needs examples!

It simply means that if you have not done normal mode and you play hard first then you will pull from both tables during that hard run. It will act as if you are playing normal mode simultaneously and will supply the normal mode drops while playing hard mode. That's all "can be combined" means.

          • Sounds to me that the HM drops will be a double drop, one from NM loot table, other from HM loot table. Not a double HM drop like vog... You can only pick up moulding shards once. Assume that exotic chest could only be looted once as well. With that said, I ran the raid normal this morning, and may run through again tomorrow. Trying to get as much light as I can before hard releases.
