If you want to close an event early its fine as long as the player base has a chance to know ahead of time. An in game notification would have been really helpful but instead there was a tweet. You cant expect your entire player base to follow you on twitter let alone check it regularly enough to know about this. Just some feedback.

Extra! Extra! Read all about it! Bungie tweets Iron Banner ending earlier than normal. Doesn't use any other channels. (Even after acknowledging a problem with communication)
-
When you're a troll community manager like Deej then Twitter is perfect.

Welcome to Bungie.net. Where you here all the Destiny related information last, if at all. Circa 2013 RIP B.old

111 RepliesSorry about that, I'll make sure important info like this is stickied on the forum in the future.
-
Very true, also when players are in countries where Twitter is unavailable.

3 RepliesBut you found out anyway? Next time a event is here, will you stop playing every five minutes, just to check the forums? You could of found out that they ended it two hours early for a reason, just by looking at other posts on here.
-
1 ReplyTo OP's point, I'm on twitter and follow you guys and i have no blessed idea what he's talking about.

Couldn't agree more! They could have posted this on Facebook, on their Website, or best yet, in the actual game when you login! My buddies and I finished up our Iron Banner run last night only to come to the tower right at 12:00 am to be met by a Lord Saladin who would not give up his wares despite multiple clicks! After some of us closed the game and came back in, the doors were closed! Worst experience ever. And just for the record, none of us had Twitter accounts...

LOL I guess common sense is once more proved not to be so damn common...you almost sound shocked by this from bungie. But a in game notice will take away from the time they sit on thier asses eating cake and not fixing real issues.

2 RepliesCan't agree more

agreed
-
Yeah I don't tweet. Nor do I Facebook.
-
The irony is that since they rarely communicate outside of Twitter, they'll never see this…
-
It would have made more sense to use the destiny app on the phone. A higher majority of people have access to that.
-
Or they could use the forum website, this destiny app that they created, to communicate to their players lolz. Twitter. Really.
-
This is classic bungie
-
Agreed. I don't even have Twitter.
-
Bump. I'm in a country that can't even access Twitter.

Edited by Maxim: 10/20/2015 8:41:24 AMIKR? Bungie has their own website but they insist on using social media as their main source of communication. These idiots are like teenage girls. Why not post alerts here first or better yet send an in game alert? You know, because this is bungie.net, your own website and destiny being your own game. Bungie logic.

5 RepliesRemember that Bungie is behaving much like your average politician these days, its not about doing something or even if its the right thing to do. Its entirely about how much people see you doing it. Look at Bungie's twitter feed and then contrast it with the forums... The impression there is of a lively game with a vibrant community and responsive developers. Its entirely different than the reality of the forums and the overall community's actual interaction with Bungie. Twitter posts are not really addressed to us, its for those in the overall public looking from the outside at the game, Simply put its just advertising.
-
Really great feedback. Why they don't have a little announcement in game or even on the website really confuses me.
