Ive done both strategies. Multiple pools, and single pool. Both work, however the single pool is easier to get the hang of. But Byf has stated that the single pool method is a cheese. What do you guardians think? Personally I think its just a safer strategy. There is no exploitation of game mechanics at all.

26 RepliesHard mode will wipe if you don't use all six pools.
-
It wasn't a cheese when we used it to beat him on hard mode today lol
-
Not even close to a cheese. If bungie wanted us to pop all eggs, they could've made it so that if you where to pop 1 and not the rest, the rest would explode or something along those lines. They gave us to option to pop which one we wanted, and how many we wanted.

2 RepliesEdited by Winter: 10/21/2015 12:40:26 PMByf is an idiot Single pool isn't a cheese.... Just a safer and quicker strat
-
Not a cheese at all as it actually takes longer. More adds to clear as you have to do atleast 3-4 rounds plus more chances for error in the pit.
-
If it's a cheese then I am a -blam!-ing coonosier
-
3 RepliesNot a cheese, feel free to do it, but passing gaze and using all 6 orbs is more efficient and quicker.
also come hard mode you will most likely need to pass gaze between 2 people
-
No it isn't a cheese. There is no exploit being leveraged to make it work.
-
2 RepliesIt's safer. I don't think it's a cheese. There isn't really any exploitation going on. I can say though that using multiple pools (we do 4 in a row) can get you a win very quickly if you work with a good team.
-
I don't think it's a cheese. To me a cheese would be getting all enemies to despawn on the bridge part if crota. Or pushing atheon off with grenades. This doesn't exploit any flaws in the game it's simply a safer more effective method for normal mode kf. I don't think it will be effective in hard mode however. For hard mode we will have to develop a new strategy for added mechanics.

1 ReplyA cheese would be skipping lamps on crota. An exploit would be lad switching crota
-
It's a strategy.

I don't think it's a cheese. It's using the proper mechanics of the fight in the way they are supposed to work. Lose his gaze, he spawns adds, rinse and repeat. None of the Kings Fall bosses are really broken enough to cheese. It's just people learning the best ways to cause the most damage as fast as possible.

Just like TOM is a cheese for Daughters and Oryx
-
4 RepliesWho is byf? It's not a cheese, it takes 1-3 more runs.
-
3 RepliesYou forgot satire
-
3 RepliesCheese? You make me laugh. You have clearly forgotten the great cheesing of 2014. RIP crota's end. (I soloed it up to crota last night on hard)
-
Byfs an idiot if he thinks that's a cheese a cheese is using different mechanics in the area to cheat your way through the boss its a strategy its smart
-
Nope, just a different strategy.

Edited by RichGhost77: 10/20/2015 5:51:44 PMThat byf guy is full of himself, don't pay any attention to him
-
It would penalize us if it wasn't meant to work like that.
-
It's not because you still need to be able to do enough damage with just the one pool
-
No. Knocking Atheon off the map was a cheese. Glitching Crota to where he couldn't move was a cheese. This is just a strategy that works, and is safer than doing it the other way. I don't know about you, but the first time we tried it we got through Golgoroth in one try with no wipes. I'm gonna stick with that.
-
2 RepliesSure it's a cheese as it makes the mechanics of the fight easier. Not all cheeses are bad.
-
Edited by Sellout: 10/20/2015 5:51:15 PMIts the same as fighting Crota only when he's at mid and waiting it out when he's to the left or right of you. There's multiple ways to do it, but just because one strategy is harder than another doesn't make it more legit.

1 ReplyEdited by Knight Raime: 10/20/2015 3:38:54 PMThat whole video of his is pretty much nonsense. Like really? Hard mode is supposed to be basically the same. And he's sitting here practically making a new raid. Anyway no it's no it's not a cheese. Cheesing involves skipping a mechanic or more of a fight. Like hanging off that ledge to avoid oracles. Or completing the bridge section by only having one guy go across. The one orb method still uses every single mechanic in the fight. The one orb mechanic is safer. But that's it. Trading gazes with proper communication makes the fight end faster. The only people who think its a cheese are people who struggled against him in the first week trying to get the trading method down.
