Is the lack of a raid sidearm a sign that bungie just threw these in and doesn't intend on making them useful?
Or does it confirm that this raid was done long before the introduction of sidearms. (Cut content)
Is any other weapon type not represented in the raid?
Edit: some people have said that swords are also missing.
Good point! We need a raid sword!
Edit2.
For all those saying they suck or are pvp only, there is a raid fusion. Fusions suck and aren't used in pvp or pve.
Edit3.
Everyone who has said that fusions or sidearms are good has been utter trash.... To the man. Any good players want to defend these guns?
Edit4.
Apparently the lore has something to say about this. Since hakke is the only manufacturer of sidearms, and they didn't give them to the hive, they wouldn't have one. Who knows, I skip cutscenes.

1 ReplyMaybe because TTK began production long before Sidearms and swords were a thing.
-
12 RepliesBecause, it was TAKEN.

I can defend the raid fusion rifle. I have a 308 and I destroy with it. I was destroying people with it in IB, aim at the knees and the last round hits the head, 1 shot everytime. And in raid it's great for the Oryx fight. I often play the floater and it's a great tool for bringing down the ogres.
-
2 RepliesSidearms are produced my hakke so it wouldn't make sense to have a raid one unless hakke is giving oryx weapon shipments
-
maybe you just havent got the right rng yet?
-
Because they suck
-
1 ReplyIt's a hidden exotic called oryx's sideboob
-
Fusions and sidearm are good in pvp. If you're looking to have fun and not be a sweaty
-
I've heard elsewhere can't find the post but the lore states that the fallen made the sidearm so the hive wouldn't have one and they elude to it being a "newer age" weapon so maybe that has something to do with it or it's a hard mode drop possibly

4 RepliesRaid sword would be fuking epic...
-
I thought the story of sidearms was that they were designed for use by Reef soldiers/troops in cramped, close-quarters combat, so they aren't a commonly found type of weapon. I think it makes sense there isn't a Raid sidearm. However, in addition to Boolean Gemini, Petra and Variks should have been given one more Exotic Weapon quest rewarding an Exotic Sidearm that isn't as boring as Dreg's Promise...
-
ill do it fusion rifles are good in pvp... if you have the susanoo
-
Still will wreck you using a dregs promise.
-
Because sidearms are completely useless.
-
Fusion rifle are really good in PvP and PvE Praetorian Foil was a great fusion rifle. As they say at the steel shop I work at don't blame the machine blame the operator
-
9 RepliesEdited by madmike: 10/22/2015 5:52:21 AMBecause outside of pvp sidearms are useless. Also saying fusions are only good in pvp? God. Why do I even read these dumb -blam!-ing posts.

1 ReplyHakke didn't fill Oryx's order in time for normal mode?
-
5 RepliesI think a more appropriate question would be why are there sidearms at all?
-
Dunno. But love my sidearms!
-
Hard Mode exclusives?
-
1 ReplyThe swords are a part of oryx' sword will breaker as shown in the last cutscene on regicide. So it wouldn't make sense to have a raid sword. (Although it would be cool) but I see no reason for no raid sidearm. Sadness....
-
Lies, fusion rifles are great in both PVE and PvP.
-
Because Bungie realizes that sidearms aren't worth using, so they didn't bother making them. They still have no range advantage over shotguns and fusions have better base damage/impact than sidearms.
-
2 RepliesGotta love those bad kids that don't know how do use Fusion Rifles.
Git gud
The games racist

Here's a gun for your fusion rifle fight Telestlo Love that thing
