Let's talk about aim assist. A mechanic that rightly shouldn't exist in any game where skill is required. Aim assist in year 2 is pathetically high and offers far too much help. That's my thought, how about you?

Shotguns with lower impact are harder to use
-
Aim assist on snipers is too high. It should be lowered and different snipers shouldn't have different levels of aim assist, every sniper should have the same amount. Also if Shot Package is removed and banned from Shotguns the Snipers need the same thing to happen to them in regards to Hidden Hand and target acquisition scopes. And as a final note flinch on Snipers needs to go. They should be knocked out of scope when they are shot like in certain other game that Bungie made. When I see a red dot on my screen and I don't have a snipers out myself I instantly back down which shouldn't be the case.

I hate the fact it can't be turned off. Always annoying
-
Well im okay at it now so yes it has
-
The main reason why aim assist exists is because of the inaccurate nature of controllers. They don't have the pin point accuracy of a mouse so they need help staying on target. This has been a thing for years
-
aim assist screws you up very often. Not to mention certain pulse rifles
hawksaw
make you flinch when you're scoped in to the point where you're aiming at the ceiling.
-
I'd like to see people wanting to remove aim assist try and snipe without it. Aim assist has always been here and it is needed.
-
I have a 1000 yard stare with hidden hand. Makes me feel good man
-
1 ReplyAim assist is present in every game trust me, I see what you mean but aim assist is needed if you used anything without any aim assist it wouldn't work at all and if you say it would if you had skill believe me it doesn't, it's completely different to what you'd imagine
-
if you have the ability to make a whole team rage quit because of how you keep shredding them with No Land Beyond, I think you're fine.
-
Takes more skill than a shotgun or fusion
-
4 RepliesDo you know what aim assist does in destiny?? It doesn't seem like it.
-
TL;DR, OP doesn't know how aim assist does and how it works.
-
You actually don't know, what aim assist does. It is NO auto aim. Auto aim is by the way active on every kind of guns
-
Aim assist on sniper rifles essentially throws all element of user precision out the window. Just move the right stick anywhere near some guy's head and pull the trigger! Yaaay! You did it! Skill points for you, kiddo! I've heard a lot of people say there should be scope sway added, but that's more annoying than anything. Maybe a very slight movement while standing still, and while moving there's a lot, if that were to be a thing? Something like that.

1000 yard stare.... 99% of my deaths today
-
Takes 0 skill to stand still and pull a trigger.. But that's just me

3 RepliesEdited by mrmachete: 10/31/2015 3:24:21 AMYes. Aim assist should have never been on snipers, or at least reduced. There's no bullet travel, there's no sway. And you can get one shot body kills? I admit there's good snipers but they have a pretty high handicap.

-
Still takes more skill than shotgun lmao
-
3 RepliesLet's also not forget: •No sway •No bullet drop •No travel time
-
Just use a fast firing sniper and double tap them.
-
3 RepliesEdited by Erijian: 10/31/2015 2:01:19 AMAim Assist shouldn't even exist on Sniper Rifles honestly. If I can manage to use a Gozen-C with the Ambush Sight, which apparently has -6 Aim Assist, players would be able to live without Aim Assist on Snipers. It'd actually take way more skill than it currently does.
-
4 RepliesYou want to know how I know aim assist is too high? I hit three head shots in crucible in about 45 seconds, and I am absolutely terrible at sniping.
-
2 RepliesIt seems it's easier to snipe now than to shotgun.
