The mission to get the black spindle is a challenge and it was worth all the effort when it dropped at 310 but now it drops at 290 with the same difficulty to get it. I think that it should be a bit easier for the attack that it is dropped. For instance a way the mission can be balanced is less enemies (or blights) or add more/remove time all together. [armory]Black Spindle[/armory] [spoiler]and while on the topic of black spindle i think since it is an exotic black hammer and the black hammer's white nail perk was nerfed that it would make it fitting if the exotic version had the original pre-nerf ability.[/spoiler] but this is all just my opinion and most of my friends agree.     • As much as i dont like it i think they were right when they nerfed white nail, in parts of the raid like golgoroth it would just be way overpowered and youd never lose ammo

    • It drops now exactly as intended. And that's just fine. We got a little extra when we weren't supposed to and now you feel entitled to it. Nothing should be changed with the mission.

        I partly agree with the damage nerf. Make it 300. The thing is you can keep farming the mission for the exotic so it should not be 310 cause you get it no matter what. 310s should come from the raid or exotix engrams when 300+ light as it alrdy does. The white nail perk should be left how it is or else we will have another problem like the ghorn imba moment from year one. And lets face it unlimited ammo on a sniper was way better on bosses than ghorn for strikes to just to stun lock then and just sit and do nothing. Plus the reason they wont bring back the old perk is how no old raid weapon came to year 2. You had to grind legendary weapons to roll the same perks to get them year 2. Black hammer is the only weapon to be actually moved to year 2. And they made it exotic because of how amazing hammer was. Be thankful we got one amazing classic weapon cause i am. Edit: not to mention i got my first spindle when it dropped 310 on the first day we found it on the very first try. Swords up to boss 1 person used raid rocket on the boss while the other 2 cleard adds.

        • It's not so much that it was 310 and now it's 290. I look at is as this is arguably the best PVE sniper in the game for raw DPS on some raid bosses. So I think the difficulty is perfect even at 290.

            • The mission wasn't hard the FIRST time, let alone any of the times after. I ran it as a 293 Warlock the first go. It was supposed to drop at 290, and they fixed that. Stop whining and infuse it up to 310 like all your other exotics.

            • You know you can infuse it up to 310, right? When Bungie nerfed my 310 Spindle down to 290, guess what... it was 310 again in the matter of seconds. The end.

              • I agree with the idea of making the old black hammer perk be the exotic perk. As is the perk is more like current black hammer and not that special as it's essentially similar to triple tap.

              • Assuming you don't have it, the gun is actually really good; even without the pre-nerf white nail perk. In PvE, special ammo isn't all that hard to find honestly, and the mission to get it wasn't even that hard (with a team of 300+ guardians).

              • I'm probably gonna get hate for this but :/ it us rewarding but I never gotten it if they removed the time and put in more enemies I would take that 10 minutes very little time for me because I'm extremely slow and I see people who can clear enemies within a second.

                • Bungie made an "oops" and had it set at 310...people got spoiled with it, and now feel entitled to better gear, or an easier mission to get it. 1. it's not THAT hard. 2. You still get a FREE exotic for simply completing it.. 3. You can infuse into it, so it's not a big issue. It still deals massive damage.

                    While I agree it is damn tough to get and IMO It should still drop at 310, however making it easier will invalidate my efforts (I speak for myself as not all guardians feel the same) to get it. Sure I didn't get to experience at its former glory of 310 but I can say that after 8 trys and working out a strat and nailing it with 45 second left It felt amazing to see it drop. I jumped up and exclaimed my enjoyment and satisfaction loudly at 3 am lol. This was probably the most satisfying accomplishment in Destiny to me. And reverting the White Nail perk to its former state would be great as it is an exotic now as it should have been in Y1. P.S Bungie Reducing all the black spindles by 20 points was handled very poorly. This goes without saying that its Blam- ed! up that they invalidated the ones that infused theirs legitly up to 310. I dint get mine till after the nerf and I know they stated all black spindles but they should have been more clear. That is my thought on the matter.

                      It wasn't hard before and it's not hard now. People need to stop trying to Zerg the content. You can solo it if you do it correctly. You can duo it by doing it correctly with a bit of leeway. There's no reason to fail with 3 if you're doing it correctly, you've got such a huge margin of error with that 3rd person... Only thing I would change is the ship should drop more often, though that's only because I'm salty. I keep running it when it's up and I still don't get the ship = /

                      • I don't see the problem. Got mine back from 290 all the way up to 310 in 2 days. If you like the weapon enough then fight to keep it.

                      • The mission was easy. That's if you get the objectives down. Everything needs to stay the same. I had it completed with like 3 or 4 minutes to spare I believe. Then again with 1 minute to spare but that was on a lower light character.

                      • ToM is 310 and requires a lengthy chain quest that includes doing the raid, finding 45 calcified fragments, doing a couple difficult story missions, farming materials for hours and a somewhat annoying light 300 strike. Black spindle is one story mission that might be difficult for gaurdian less than 290 light. Imo the reward is justified by the difficulty of the strike. Maybe my opinion is biased because it only took my two tries. Also 290 black spindle is more than enough to destroy bosses in the raid. 290 black spindle>300+ any legendary sniper in kings fall.
