Fastest way to 300 without Raiding?
Trying to get my Titan to 300 has been a grind.
Don't really have time to Raid because I'm always on the game at random times and sometimes very short amounts of time (not reliable for trying to get a consistent Raid team). Plus the recruiting part of forums makes it obvious that most have no time for raid noobs. Finally, have a 1 year old daughter and a Wife who hates Destiny :-( They're my priority.
What's my best alternative? CoO, Heroic Strikes, or simply clearing Vanguard bounties on all 3 characters on Patrol?
Any suggestions are appreciated.

Farming strikes will get you there. It;s all RNG without the raid so the more blues you get the better your chances. Simple as that.

I got my warlock to 301 today in a few hours no raid just gear left over from my main Titan I infused. Hopefully tonight when I raid with my warlock I will jump a few more levels! Just run strikes that's how I got decent blues and legendary's.

blues can get up to 300. im 306 max and iv only seen 300 arms and chest.

1 ReplyDo normal Vanguard strikes, build a decent streak and hope for 300 blue drops, I say normal, simply because you can clear them faster, more clears, higher chance to get an elusive blue item. Once you actually manage to get 300 overall, exotics have a chance to drop at 310, grind 3 of coins until you get all slots 310 via infusing(will take 2 each) and congrats, you're 309, because there no way(to my knowledge) to obtain a 310 artifact without the raid.

If you don't have a couple of hours to raid then you probably won't have nearly enough time to grind out strikes and court forever trying to get 300 level blue engrams (which drop practically never). The raid is your absolute best chance and by far the least time consuming overall. Even if you only go as far as the Daughters you could still get a ghost shell and some other gear along the way.

[b]It's near impossible to hit 300 without raiding and they did that on purpose.[/b] For the entire DLC I have only gotten one 300 light item from an engram and that's already more than most. If you've finished the Road to King's Fall quest line, you can get a guaranteed 310 artifact and a few 300+ items. After you hit 300 light you can start decrypting exotics at 310 making it easier to level up. Basically, try doing the raid. You don't have to finish it in one sitting and the recruitment forums or Destiny LFG are great resources for finding people.

There are lots out there that will be willing to work with you. You can check out the clan I'm in Drop Dead Zone. We have people on at all hours and if I'm on and have the time I'll be willing to get a group and run you through it.

First, I would find a full legendary set that you like. Then just start Infusing all of the blues you get into the legendary's. Don't worry about light at first because in the long run, a 300 blue isn't necessarily better than a 295 legendary. Run heroics for your legendary's and then court of oryx to get a crap ton of blues. Leveling up factions is a good way to get legendary's also, not necessarily time or resource efficient but it's good to remember. Infusing blues will be slower but will leave you better geared and the amount you get makes it worth it.

3 RepliesIm actually in the exact same situation lol 18 month old Daughter and a fiancee that hates Destiny! I normally play when she goes to bed at like 9-10pm but then i only play until like 12pm due to work the next day. Nowhere near enough time to raid unfortunately. Ive been stuck at around 295 for quite some time now.

2 RepliesExotic sword quest, RNG luck, if you did black spindle before the nerf and infused it into something that would have helped ( my CT-D is at 307). I'm at 299 with no raid, my 294 artifact is holding me back from 300.

Engram farm the CoO and Heroic Strikes. It's all in RNG's hands after that. The 310 exotic sword and the 300 shotgun/fusion rifle you receive after completing the Vanguard strike quest will also be helpful. Without raiding I've gotten my Warlock up to 298... My 286 ghost is killing me but I've never had one drop higher.

1 ReplyJust be insanely lucky ;) Theres probably bout a 1 in 40 chance of any engram being 300 once you're in the 290s. I still get 260 crap at 298. Times that by each gear slot and yeah we're talking lottery odds for a full set of 300 drops. I think the exotic sword is 310 when you get it. That gives you a bit of leeway with a few 298-9 pieces. I think normal strike list probably your best bet. Easier to keep the buff going if anyone drops out and faster completions.

2 RepliesIf raid time is an issue, just either find a group OK with spacing it out, or do it yourself. You don't have to best the entire thing in 1 sitting, just play an hour or two here, stop at whatever part you are on, and pick it up the next day. I had to do this a lot when the raid first came out, since nobody had a clue what to do and it would take us 3-4+ hours (depending on the group) to complete it. Or, alternatively, look for people who have CPs and jump in with them. As long as you don't care about skipping through some parts, there's no shame in jumping straight into a Sisters/Oryx CP, just make sure to either be understanding and willing to learn, or watch some YouTube videos first and get a good idea of how it goes, and let them help you with the rest. I usually have at least 1 CP saved at all times, and I'm on a similar schedule, except my girl is at college through the week, so I get to play from 5pm-12am. If you are on PS4 by any chance, I wouldn't mind helping you through a CP or two if you had time.

4 Replies310 exotic sword is a good suggestion (quest can be completed over time) Grinding vanguard strikes [spoiler]if including raid. The best thing to do is have the 310 artefact quest up to the part where you need to kill the 3 raid bosses. You could take these on one at a time, just look for their checkpoints (watch a video to prep) - many look for one more person. If you're >290 should be fine but know the pain of forum groups wanting highest possible levels... Same goes for touch of malice quest. If you have both quests ready you'll have a 310 artefact and 310 primary in your possession so worth doing. From there on in once 300 you can open exotic engrams (3oC) and use the 310's you get to upgrade your legendaries[/spoiler]

3 RepliesThere are actually quite a few ways. Strikes, Court of Oryx, crucible, pretty much every activity now gives you the chance at useful gear. It's a great system with more of a constant progression than the old light system. My personal recommendation would be finding a good lobby for Court of Oryx, as that can get going really fast. At the same time, you may want to work on getting the exotic sword, as that drops at 310, which really helps your light.

Ironically, your quickest route will be doing the raid. Other than that, your going to spend many, many hours of grinding and possibly never have a high level piece drop.

You need to have had that 310 Spindle infused into a secondary. You also need an exotic sword. That's how I reached 300 and I haven't done the raid.
