Omolon Uzume RR4 Review

I got this from Banshee for Armsday and have been using it in PvE mostly. It has a really nice feel to it but it's low impact, low aim assist make it very difficult to use. Mine has unflinching, army of one, rifled barrel and underdog. It's like the kind of weapon a psychopathic hitman would use; requires a very high skill level and is unusual looking and feeling. It's special feature? It's feels smack bang halfway between a scout rifle and a normal sniper. If you got skillful enough with it and got speed sniper reload gauntlets and carry-more-sniper-ammo armor, it could be a great 'primary-secondary (if you know what I mean) gun in crucible as it's scopes make it feel more like a scout rifle. I believe its one head-shot kill in normal crucible and 2-3-body shot kill? It's like the fast firing snipers that used to drop regularly from crucible in HoW, that no one ever used, because they were too cumbersome. This is nice, makes you want to use it but it's hard. I will persevere in the belief that if I crack it I might be onto something!

  • Prefer higher impact to ensure one shot kills on lower health guardians. The unflinching perk will defo make it an interesting contest against someone countering with their primary??

  • It's a shame you got that one rather than its big brother the eirene RR4. I had the uzume and thought it was a heap of crap. The eirene however is a different story. The are identical in looks but so different stat wise. Next time it rolls round grab it with luck in the chamber and zen moment and you won't use another unless you get spindle and even then it will be your main unless your running the raid

      • Fun to use in non-revivable PvP playlists. I use it and Hawkmoon/Red Death almost entirely. I didn't realize how low the AA was until I fugged around with my Hereafter recently. It's definitely not the easiest sniper to use that's for sure.

        • The Uzume is a light, snappy, versatile kind of weapon that rewards a skilled hand. Not something you want for DPS, but a reliable headshot machine. I put it in the same category as praedyth's revenge...sigh...I miss that gun.

Uzume does not have enough punch to snipe off of self-res, automatically making it a poor choice for Trials, and low impact also means it won't put out as much damage on bosses in PvE. Low aim assist does the weapon no favors. It's a decent headshot machine in basic PvP, but in the most difficult/competitive environments, your skills are better invested into Eirene, Stillpiercer, and 1000-Yard Stare.

          • I love the scope on mine. It's a rectangle, which means the entire TV screen acts as the scope when zoomed in. It also has almost 25% zoom, meaning I have a lot of versatility on it.
