How are people suppose to get experience when no one wants to help people out? Its like job hunting... "we want people but you need experience which we are not gonna give you"
Year one was good... everyone was willing to help there fellow man out... now its just full of selfish people.
Edit: Since posting this i have discovered that not all people asshats... so im not labeling the whole destiny community... just the elitist that forgot that everyone started somewhere.
Thank you to those that helped me through the raid tonight and those that offered afterwards... now that i have a bit of experience i would be glad to offer help to those in need of it..
Xbox one Gt same as above... the O in roy is a zero feel free to add me.
Edit Edit: yes i have looked at videos... no i didnt expect to be carried. Yes i know about lfg. Yes i have a raiding party already who are unfortunatley away atm.
Save yourself the trouble of repeating what many other people have already stated.

5 RepliesEdited by dmillibeats: 10/19/2015 8:12:32 PMStart a raid group of all new players and learn and beat the raid like that, that's how everyone beat it first time if they didn't get carried. Looks to me your just trying to get carried.

Because many people are on time crunches. I have no desire to spend 4-5 hours in one raid for minimal rewards when i can get a group of experienced people and get it done in 1 and 1/2 hours. People need to do their own homework. Watch the fights on youtube, learn the strat to the fights before they go in blind. Many people are lazy and want to do their homework.

There is just so much to do. Whereas before people were just looking for stuff to keep them busy.
-
I hope they add Dps meters so we can go full EJ. LFM need to pull 50k dps or kicked....i miss WoW sometimes xD
-
It's because the asshats wanna run through the content as fast as possible. Which I think is stupid. I would rather enjoy the content and get ALL of the experience points possible.

Man im loving the people who jump in here not knowing half the discussions that have taken place so im gonna put it out there now seeing as this thread is kicking back up again lol. Be me... Here since day one.. always willing to help new people through previous raids. 298 light with spindle. Have watched countless videos before asking for a raid. Half my regular raid group are on holidays the other half at work. Work nights so most people i know are asleep. -blam!- it I'll jump on forums.. they were always good in year one. Post for an hour saying "looking to run fresh for my first time.. listen well and am fast learner" Finally get a reply... "you havent done the raid yet? Lol kill yourself" Am pretty butt hurt by this point... Make this thread. As expected most self entitled dicks yell scrub.. Eventually the decent folk arrive.. tell me not to give up hope Lie my way into a raid party... At start explain that this is my first run but have watched videos and explain why i lied. Many lols were had... 1 hour later we are at oryx and apparently rngesus loves me. Edit thread to say i was wrong and not everybody in this game are dicks. Thread dies. Now morning has come and the cycle of dicks and decent people repeats. The end.

Overall people are less willing to help others and are less patient than ever.
-
You're very right. People are selfish, but at the same time, people are impatient. They want to get activities over and done with in a timely fashion. However, people don't understand that by helping others, you're helping yourself. You gain further allies to help out in future activities and you trust that they're competent enough.

1 ReplyFrom my experience raiding over the last two weeks I have heaps of people willing to help. Unfortunately I have seen heaps of people who simple don't listen and just keep making the same mistakes. This just leads to people leaving the fireteam.
-
I found a group to help watch tutorials and say your experienced, you will know what to do roughly
-
That's because of the gally. Oh wait last fabrication from those that nerf everything
-
1 ReplyI know the feeling. My clan has been silent since TTK. My friend's list is full of non-responsive butt monkeys. Only time I can get anything accomplished is when I bump into a couple of Guardians grinding Strikes and we team-up afterwards.
-
4 RepliesI posted on lfg today saying All Welcome regardless of light etc And you know what? Had a brilliant time Yeah we had a few wipes, but I learned things too as had to fulfill roles I don't normally do Can't wait to do this again!
-
hope bungie don't leave alone those people that are lone Wolfs.
-
I beg to differ
-
Yea most posts on lfg are like that, but can you blame them? Most just want to get it done, and that's cool. Just gotta make your own group dude.
-
Yea you have a point but then some people just don't want to spend or have time 3 to more hours to help someone or multiple people during 1 one raid. I mean I try to help people but I'll help only 3 knew people per raid I like having atleast 2 other including me that know the raid less stress for me xD
-
Find a clan. End of problem.
-
This is very true.
-
I find it pretty easy to find people willing to help it's just not gonna be instant might take 5 10 mins
-
I still help ppl. But once it gets in to hour 2 in the same cp in raid I get little pissed, because new ppl seem to think it's OK to run off when it's not OK to do so.

Edited by tictaktwonk: 10/19/2015 7:32:49 PMSometimes its just nice to help people. But if it's such a big issue for some that's up to them!!
-
There are three sides to this. The people that can help and have time. The people that while nice don't have time to help. And the "elitists" that need 300+ everything and yet still struggle and are impatient making it ultimately take longer. (Extreme generalisation, but you get the idea)

11 RepliesEdited by LiamCDM: 10/19/2015 7:24:13 PMWhy are skilled players morally and socially obligated to help lower level players? There's something called LFG, use it.
-
Edited by OldManJenkins: 10/19/2015 7:30:26 PMA bad Community has nothing to do with the Content. Don't make this about TTK.

2 RepliesI always try and help people through their first raid completion. Time permitting, I'll go out of my way to do it. I raid for no rewards, just the experience each run gives me. I'm not sure why there aren't more people who just play for the good times. Why not help someone out? It feels good to help someone finally complete the challenge they've been struggling with.
