Microsoft didn't tell people they wouldn't support Office 2000 in 15 years when they sold it... that's where the unfortunate nature of technology comes into play. that phone you pay 600$ for today is going to at some point be worthless. video games don't have anywhere near the same shelf life, and phone makers and carriers have a much broader market and opportunity for income, so a quicker call to change is perfectly reasonable, imo. (HOW to TTK did hurt tho).

This is true. The example given is not an equitable comparison.

Edited by CKguardian: 10/18/2015 2:21:15 AMexcept the original response was that when people purchased Destiny, they weren't told they would require a decent connection, so i don't see how the example is inequitable. please elaborate. additionally, people are still buying refurbished systems with old OS and office suites. machines are built at a school district and office level with old software on a regular basis...

People don't get let in to a restaurant, charged for their food and then kicked out part way through eating because they weren't wearing a tie. That's basically what's happening here. Bungie didn't make a decision about what was and wasn't an acceptable connection speed until after people bought the product. If they now feel some people aren't matching their standards they should offer them a full refund as well as the ban. It's the only the way they can, in good conscience, ban people who've already bought the game just because they've only just decided how fast our connections need to be.
