I expected the quest to be a bit more difficult and a bit more exciting rather, than doing a few easy, simple things then doing another pointless 42 strike and the gunsmith is all like, "lol here you go". Yet, it was also 290. Hm. Wow.
Ricocheting Blast is pretty pointless. What's it going to do? It's not like it ACTUALLY would hit anything. You have a very small chance if you try it out. (I've tested it in many patrols, strikes, raids, etc. doesn't help at all.)
Well, the fact as we thought it was going to be exciting as Gjallarhorn, but we realized we're not going to touch it. It's just going to sit in our vault to dust.
ME AND MY FRIEND'S IDEAS TO MAKE IT BETTER:
I say if you really would like for people to enjoy it, it would've been nice if rather than ricocheting, when it hit and enemy, it formed into and explosive ball and spread around small lasers that had a limit to ricocheting off anything.
WE ALSO THOUGHT it would be interesting to see the laser, after hitting an object, projected a small vortex-grenade like field.
We just think the gun itself is a bit too easy in terms to say, and for the fact it looks AMAZING we think it needs more worth than what it actually gets.
EDIT: if you're wondering why it is "Stimulant" it's a joke between friends :) They wanted me to post this to see everyone's opinions.

Edited by KawiFohFiddy: 10/18/2015 5:49:24 AMNever hear of this Stimulant that you speak of..... Does it get your rock hard or something?

The gun itself does pretty good damage. But I agree the richochet is COMPLETELY useless. No way in hell does it benefit a player, even with a large mob in front of you.

4 RepliesIs there any tips on how to get the random drops part me and my friend have been looking for a while? Thank you in advance

The gun you're talking about doesn't exist
-
Or, I was also thinking, after making contact with an enemy, it would act like a firebolt or arcbolt grenade, chaining to nearby enemies. The radius would be slightly larger than a firebolt and it'd do more damage than a firebolt grenade, but wouldn't burn. A scenario I imagine is a major enemy and several smaller enemies around it, let's say a fallen captain and some vandals. You'd target the yellow bar captain, likely killing or doing good damage to him, and the laser chains to the nearby vandals, likely killing most of them, minus some yellow bars. That's how we can make it an efficient mob clearer, as I believe the DPS output the Simulant has on single targets is already fine.

Well, one shotting sunbreakers from a mile away in the crucible is pretty satisfying.
-
There should be a final upgrade that, instead of doing direct damage, paints the enemy with a glowing laser dot. A few seconds later a warsat comes down and does MASSIVE damage too them. Even works in Raids; course it wont insta kill a boss, but if you do it on one when they're at a sliver of health...

That gun is awesome u tripping yo
-
It's fine the way it is. Everyone expected it to be game breaking like the gjallarhorn was. Fortunately it isn't.
-
The gun isn't bad, people were just expecting YOLOhorn 2.0 and it isn't, though it's still a good gun and fun to use.
-
I hate the sleeping stimulus
-
Critical swap switches it to a secondary and deals no crits

5 RepliesIs the quest available today?

Chill white girl
-
Just make it like the Spartan laser and instead of ricocheting it just over penetrates targets
-
Mob control it's terrible but against ultras the damage it kicks out is incredible.
-
I need 2 for the strike
-
It really isn't awful at all
-
All it needs is to guarantee a hit on the ricochet... Not a critical but a hit none the less.
-
If you use it in the right places it's actually really good. Ran the taniks strike on the heroic playlist, he was hit with melting point, shot a celestial nighthawk shot at him and 6 shots and he was dead.

Only good in enclosed areas/rooms.

1 ReplySleeper simulant is just fine. Learn to aim and stop riding the hype train so much. BOOM.. problem solved

3 RepliesEdited by VinBiggs: 10/17/2015 2:40:49 PMWhen leveled and aimed it's s beast ... I did not plan for this and I'm sure I cannot do it again but some one better can.. But during oryx I used it to kill orges and it hit mine, bounced off wall behind him , hit him again and then hit the orge across ... All full damage .... I don't think it's potential has been touched

One spot where the ricochet works wonders is the walker tank in the Taniks strike. If you're up on the balcony at the back of the room and fire down at one of the legs it can bounce and hit a second leg for double crit damage. It's ridiculous how much damage it does and you don't need a super precise shot to get the angle you need.

2 RepliesI feel as though the main issue around the simulant is that the community was expecting a massively over powered, one gun to rule them all Gjallarhorn type of gun again. The Sleeper is not that gun and BC of that, the community is up in arms against it. The Sleeper is a fun weapon to use and instead of being the answer to everything (Gjallarhorn) it actually has specific scenarios where it excels and the community needs time to discover those areas. Personally, my issue was how the sleeper wasn't 310 from the start. Then again, this is Destiny and if you don't have to grind to make it effective... It must be another game. ;)
