What are glass needles?
so, just looked at Xur's inventory, and it seems that he has a new item for us. Glass needles. they go for 3 strange coins, 3 motes of light, and 1 exotic shard. description says that they can alter the properties of exotic gear. anybody else hear about this, or did bungie just try to ninja something new into the game?
EDIT: looks like it was in the update last week. most people, myself included, seem to have just missed it because of all the other things going on. lol... :)
it appears that glass needles will be used for the Twist Fate ability to reroll the stats on exotic gear.

3 RepliesReroll stats on exotics. Used one on Helm of Saint 14 and the intellect stat increased by almost 30 points.

It's in the notes for new stuff that Bungie puts out before they update the game every week. You can use Glass Needles to re-roll the random perks on Exotic armor, in much the same way HoW weapons could be Reforged.

"It’s called Glass Needle, which will be available from Xur when he appears in the game every week. It will be used to activate the new Twist Fate feature, which is a new form of rerolling returning to Destiny. Players will be able to spend Glimmer, Armor Materials, and a Glass Needle to reroll Stat and Upgrade nodes, but only on Year Two Exotic armor."

It was in the update but was overlooked due to all the other crap going on last week. You can reroll exotic armour with them.
