Would make it worthless in pve. Even with the increased damage resistance you get it isn't enough to tank a lot of the damage dished out by ai's. It would be fine for low level encounters but if you did this sunbreaker wouldn't be viable for 280+ light level missions. I say this because even with the way it is now i cant tank my way through the area before the darkblade in anything over 280. And the mobility thing with less hammers again hinders it for pve, if you do that there has to be a damage boost since you are getting less hammers. A lot of the enemies are complete sponges and don't die unless you put an entire sunbreaker super into them.

Edited by IS0M0RPHIC: 10/15/2015 10:50:53 PMWhy would you be using hammer of sol over ward of dawn in pve? I mean besides raw damage there's not much going for pve sunbreaker.

Edited by REXEL: 10/15/2015 10:55:19 PMMelting point, if you're running relic and hit the vessel of light with it he is extremely vulnerable to damage. Also if you have a nighstalker on your fireteam a tether mixed with hammer of sol is quite viable. And another thing is i think people are tired of running defender after a year and want something different for a change.

Melting point can be done without the super, so Sunbreakers would still be viable in PvE in that sense, and adding less mobility would just mean you can't pop your super any time you wanted to. You'd actually have to think about when to use it, which would actually be a good change. Just like it would be a terrible idea to FoH the first enemy you see or bubble up right when you get your super, it would be a terrible idea to start throwing hammers if you aren't in a good position to do so.

If you don't use defender for PVE you're a scrub

What a constructive post

A super isn't a means for wreckless PvE play. Still requires tact.

Edited by REXEL: 10/15/2015 10:21:26 PMNot advocating wreckless play, but with your fix they would have to buff the damage resistance to compensate for the lack of mobility in pve. DR is high now, but with low mobility you would still die easily. If it was anything like how it is running with the relic in the arc lightning hallway you would die extremely easily from enemy fire in high light level activities. If people wanted this class balanced, they would have to re design the entire thing, because a lot of possible fixes will harm it more than fix anything. There isn't anything to really rely on other than the super. Nightstalker has utility outside of its super, and sunbreaker has very little.
