Seriously, how do people think that throwing 6-8 tracking/gernades and horse shoes nova bombs (that heal you if you kill someone) while also having the highest armor of any super in the game is balanced?
Hammer of sol has more armor the a titan bubble or radiance warlock. It is the fastest class in the game because of titan skating. And does more damage than nova bomb and fist of havoc together.
Now let's look at the the mobile supers.
Golden Gun: now on paper this sounds promising, however in reality it stands absolutely no chance against a HoS who will take 2 shots to put down. Now back to what I said it sounds okay because the hunter has a gun and can keep safe distance from the titan. But in actuality the fire rate on golden gun is a big road block. Because GG is so squishy and you're highlighted by fire, the entire enemy team is going to be shooting at you. So in conclusion the only way GG could "counter" HoS is when the titan is caught by surprise.
Radiance
What's there to say that hasn't already been said? It used to be a good super for PvP, but with the grenade and orb changes its lost its edge. Now even with a maxed armor build and gear to add even more defense you will get one shot by a hammer. (Have not tested with flame shield active) What is the sunsinger counter to HoS? The only counter is for them to die and self revive because that's the only chance you would have.
Blade Dancer
Already the easiest super to escape from or to stop dead in its tracks, what does a blade dancer do to counter HoS? Well not blink because blink is too slow to save you from explosions anymore. Razors edge? It would take nearly 4 direct blows to kill the titan. So again HoS wins no contest.
Storm trance
Now as a warlock main who thoroughly enjoys storm caller I can tell you the only counter is to strafe and spam ionic blink and pray that whoever is controlling the indestructible death machine launcher is to excited to line up one hammer. (Because realistic they have 7 or 8 ticks of storm trance before they die and if one hammer lands in my area code it will surely be the end of me and regen their health.)
Now let's look at nova bomb and fist of havoc.
Nova Bomb
One hammer will kill you mid animation so nova bomb is out as well.
Fist of Havoc
Good luck getting close to a titan in HoS. They are going to throw a hammer at everything that moves I mean why not go a little trigger happy when you have enough to wipe out the whole enemy team and some change. This means they'll probably throw some hammers around blind corners as well so waiting like a preying mantis will also get you no where.
Ward of Dawn
2 hammers break these leaving 5 to 6 hammers left. All that all you have done with your ward is to drop a big purple target on the ground that can be annihilated with only %25 of their super.
Exempt Supers or Abilities
ShadowShot: I left this out because the only thing this super does is counter supers and annoy people, but it must be noted: hitting a titan directly while they are in their super will not immediately suppress them out of it so 60% of the time I've seen the titan still kill the hunter. All the hunter achieved is saving what few team mates weren't already hammered.
Suppressor Grenade
This is a striker titan only ability and as we've already covered how you won't be able to get near the titan your only option is to blindly throw it around a corner or something of the sort. This is largely dependent on luck and luck is not a viable counter.
So I've systematically compared HoS to every super in the game. And I've come to the conclusion this is like bringing a gun to a rock, paper, sisscors fight. It's such a big step backwards in the terms of balance. Autos were nerfed because they were just better to use than anything else. Thorn and TLW were nerfed because they were so overpowered that they had no counter except themselves. This is the exact same problem we are having now with HoS. The only thing that beats one -- is another.

I'm well of with storm trance and GG. Stormcallers have to jump and try to be mobile to avoid being blown up (avoid being next to walls because of splash damage). Gunslingers just need to be smart about approaching.

Do agree but even doing hos v hos if your lagging he's going to beat you.

The entire sun breaker class is garbage anyways besides the hammers. Grenades suck and aren't useful, jump is the same as all the other three jumps. So stop crying . Git gud scrub

33 RepliesLie, I've killed a Titan in his super with a sword hilt... Yeah that's really how bad you pvp scrubs really are.

I am going to end this hammer of sol is op key word OP. Now first things first the titan lovers need to understand that if you can shoot a hammer through a closed doors and killing someone on the other side with no lag in involved OP. Next if you have the new exotic gloves that make your hammer explosion bigger and put the sunspot that causes a burn vortex OP, then you have the titan rush not only was the titan rush one shot without waiting for a recharge Now you want to add that to a special that give a massive def upgrade and now it causes explosions big enough to killing two people just wow just woow. Now last but not least is it takes two head shots with golden gun to kill a titan in the HOS special that says enough right there . Please stop saying it's not over powered just stop because you know dam well it is.

Viable counter: skillful maneuvering and shotgun melees

What you really need to post about is how bungie 6v6 match types have so much lag that you can't win 1v1 with the host. Hammer of solid is meh.

5 RepliesEdited by Silvurphlame: 10/17/2015 4:04:43 PMWith respect, I have to point out that Sunsinger not being able to counter it is irrelevant as Radiance is not truly an offensive super to begin with. Same with Ward of Dawn. Nova Bomb should not be activated from right in front of the Titan. Hit a Sunbreaker from the side or from behind and it should produce one dead Titan. Other than that I can see some of your points. Bladedancer is not suited to countering Hammer of Sol. Golden Gun does take two shots depending the Titan's build. But that's more of Hammer of Sol being an effective defense/deterrent for Golden Gun. (A possible solution there might be to simply up GG'a damage a bit. Should make it more effective against the Sunbreaker and it already one shots other builds as is. Always balance up.) As a Titan main, I do feel a little bad for Hunters and Warlocks. But most of the complaints and videos I've seen boil down to lack of strategy. With respect to my Hunter and Warlock fellow guardians, does it make any sense at all to try to go toe to toe and face to face with someone wielding a flaming Mjölnir? No. No it doesn't. Even as a Sunbreaker, when I hear that hammer drop, I turn around and try to circle and flank. Strategy is necessary. You can't just Nova Bomb/Golden Gun/Blade Dance everything in the face every time and expect it to always work. I've gotten killed several times myself when someone had the good sense to slide under the hammer's arc, or come at me from behind or snipe me from a distance before I could find them or take cover.

Well if you suck yeah... hammer of sol is "impossible" to get away from. . Run. Cut corners wear it out. They only get points if they kill you.

1 ReplySo many ways to counter it based off skill. Every super (besides self res and bubble) can counter it. Now idk about arc blade because I haven't seen it attempted and to be honest I wouldn't use it. But you act as if hammer bros are always at medium range no matter what, when in reality a good 80% of the time you are in close quarters or long range. So you can use any FoH, nova, gg, stormcaller, and the bow can all counter the super. Including high impact shotguns and high impact snipers. A primary isn't supposed to kill someone in super and anything else can. Use heavy ammo, use anything g listed above and at that point it's based on one thing. Skill. Who is better than who, and who evee loses needs to respect the fact they were just simply beat by someone who was better. Nothing is op everything has a counter and it all comes down to skill between players. No one here ever thinka its up to skill. If you refuse to use what counters it then I hope god has mercy on your constantly scorched body and soul.

3 RepliesShadowshot debuffs Hammer of Sol...its that simple.
-
Yeah armor bubble has more armor than sunbreaker. And Nova bomb counters every super including this one. Glide and lift also counter this super. This super is op against dumb people. Anyone smart can take it on.
-
Or idk a shadowshot, fist of havoc, golden gun or nova bomb stops it as well.

2 RepliesEdited by Godzillas Cake: 10/16/2015 1:48:08 AMFist of havoc counters it Nova bomb counters it Shadowshot counters it Gold gun counters it ( in most circumstances) Snipers counter it It's pretty easy to counter, it's just that no one ever gets creative against it

16 RepliesStorm trance can EASILY counter HoS

13 RepliesAnother mile long post about only supers. Good job ignoring the rest of the subclass, which the Sunbreaker has maybe the worst set of skills. Yet all you people constantly whine about the ten-second super. Btw, avoiding hammers is easy AF

8 RepliesHoS is not stronger then nova bomb and fist of havoc STOP BITCHING!.

Edited by xpvang: 10/16/2015 5:02:38 PMActually you can counter a Hos pretty easy I play a Titan Mainly and I've been in number of games in pvp and people can actually dodge your hammers pretty easy also even though it's powerful a Titan does need some power as all Titans had for year one was camping inside a sheild or Fist of Havoc which people can just one shot you with shotgun or snipe and even just use primary to kill you as it takes so much time to actually do the super. Also definition of a Titan: The noun titan comes from Greek mythology, in which the Titans were a race of gods. Today, a titan is someone who is god-like, or powerful and influential in a certain field.

Do people even know how to play?
-
11 RepliesGG can kill a sunbreaker less they have solar armor on. Storm trance can kill a sunbreaker. Nova bomb and FOH sure as hell can. Shadow shot, even if it misses it still can pull them out. WOD is the only screwed one here. Hell you can even 1 shot snipe a sunbreaker in super.

3 RepliesStorm callers beat them in a duel

If used correctly any of these supers can counter hammer of sol no problem. People had these same complaints about blade dancer (not the golden gun thing though) until they realized it wasn't as overpowered as they though.
